Less than 28,000 last night 08:56 - Nov 30 with 3188 views | DinnernotTea | Which is crazy given the last 10 years of crowds but weirdly I'm annoyed by that. Someone seems to know of someone who wants a scum ticket. Why not go last night? How many did Millwall bring? Couldn't see them from other end of Cobbold. Didn't think we would drop below 28,000 all season nor should we given our record breakers at home.

Exactly. Sub-zero temperatures on a work/school night and a slightly later kick-off - plus the ability to watch on Sky. Hardly surprising and 28k is still brilliant.

and from a TV watcher 100+ miles away, it sounded brilliant too!

Less than 28,000 last night on 09:03 - Nov 30 with 3023 views | Bent_double | 1200 or so Millwall fans, so I'm guessing at least 800-odd empty seats in that section that could/would have been sold to Ipswich fans if it wasn't Millwall. A bit surprising, I only booked late Tuesday evening, and there were just a few seats available online.

Yeah, unreal to be getting close to full houses for a game like last night, which for a host of reasons is probably one of the least appealing of the season. Oddly I didn't feel as cold last night as I did on Saturday, despite it being a few degrees colder. Must be celebrating all those goals.

Less than 28,000 last night on 09:22 - Nov 30 with 2861 views | Basuco | Midweek games can be difficult to get to for many reasons, work, travel, early start the following day, why the fixation on crowd numbers, the performance on the pitch is far more important. Second place in the league, 12 points clear of 6th place Hull is amazing and unbelievably great. I am totally focused on how great everything about Ipswich Town is now, matchday experience, atmosphere and fanzone are standout reasons to enjoy the moment and long may the good times continue. Couple of home games in FA Cup and we will hit 750,000 attendance at Portman Road this season. Probably a record.

Meh on 09:24 - Nov 30 with 2833 views | Dyland | It was freezing cold and on the box, so plenty of people living a drive plus/or train away (makes up a fair sized chunk) didn't bother. Fair enough.

Surely it's fine to say the figure was less than 28,000, meaning that there were fewer than 28,000 countable persons present. In the same way as the presenters of Pointless, well versed themselves in pedantry as a fun sport and noble art, can perfectly correctly say that a contestant needs "less than 50", meaning a score of less than 50, corresponding to an answer which fewer than 50 persons have given. See also less than 3 pints of milk (being perfectly correct), meaning less milk than 3 pints' volume. Although I appreciate that milk is not countable, whereas the pints are. Here's hoping for three points (pints?) against Coventry, no fewer, and no less!
Less than 28,000 last night on 09:38 - Nov 30 with 2713 views | DinnernotTea | The amount of bitching and crying online that some can't get a scum ticket but absolutely would never turn up last night. This group drserve every single home seat to be sold each and every home game. If you've been about from 2007 - 2021 you'd know why. Record breakers shouldn't have 1,000 empty seats. Greedy but true.

The vast majority of those empty seats were the away allocation. The home allocation was 99% full.

Give your head a wobble, as I think the kids say these days. I didn't go (although as a ST holder I guess I was counted) as it would be cutting it very fine getting there from south London after work, plus the train prices are higher midweek, and there's another home game Saturday. Sorry if this makes you angry.

Just living up to his user name again! Unless of course, following a series of pitch invasions on 16th December each time town scored, we are ordered to play 4 games behind closed doors.

The Foundation benefit from our seats when we can't be there, so the attendance might have been the same, anyway.
