Really frustrating watch this on 15:54 - Sep 21 with 2551 views | Trequartista | Southampton are usually possession-meisters with not a lot of end product so they've gone the opposite way with just a goal and a woodwork struck in barely two attacks that they've had. We're playing well in general (7 corners to 0) but passes going astray at the top end of the pitch. Seem nervous in front of goal.

Sammy S has been particularly wasteful but none of our forward players are exactly shining here.
Really frustrating watch this on 16:00 - Sep 21 with 2392 views | LankHenners | We're getting the yips a bit in the final third - not quite getting the passes right, Omari frequently taking too long to decide what to do with it, not getting a clean shot away etc. We've not really done a lot wrong but need to find a way to be a bit more clinical. Clarke and Hirst to come on at some point seems the obvious change.

Really frustrating watch this on 16:00 - Sep 21 with 2392 views | The_Flashing_Smile | I wouldn't say meh. We've been on top, creating loads of opportunities and Saints have hit us twice on the break, scoring from one and hitting the post with the other. Shame we don't have someone truly clinical up top, but I've actually been heartened by the performance.

13 shots, 6 on target, that wins most games. Unbeaten in 3.

The Ramsdale signing is massive for Southampton. If they stay up - and I think it's a stretch that they will - it will be because of him. If Bazunu had been in goal we would have won today.

Really frustrating watch this on 17:22 - Sep 21 with 1319 views | NthQldITFC | I think we were perhaps a little too keyed up for the game in retrospect. We were super-aggressive for the first 30 minutes and created a lot of half chances from our pressure. If we'd bagged one or two Saints would probably have caved under the crowd pressure. With that aggression we were perhaps forcing our build up a little too much, Omari in particular, and we looked clunky. You can see why we did it; it was good strategy, but it just looked a bit messy. However - the outcome is good and the morale boost of a late equaliser is very valuable, particularly as the away team.

Really frustrating watch this on 17:30 - Sep 21 with 1260 views | ITFCSG | Seems like the entire team had a day off or flu bug today - we don't look our usual selves for some reason. Especially when compared to our 2 games v Saints last season. Midfield and frontmen not linking up for some reason. None of our forwards seem to have the clinical touch as well so far this season. Saints weren't fantastic but knew how to soak up the pressure and hit on the break. If Archer's shot had gone in instead of hitting the post with Muric stranded it'd been curtains for us.

Although some of his playing out was erratic, gave the ball to us several times.

I agree and better teams will be far more ruthless than we were. Some lovely saves but they can't afford to give away cheap goals.

Very pessimistic take, that. They had 2 chances first half, scored one and hit the post with the other. We had loads of very decent opportunities and were 7-0 up on corners. Didn't seem like an off-day to me first half, but I agree we needed to be more clinical. You say they knew how to soak up the pressure - I think they were lucky several times, and we were wasteful when in good positions. So weird that you say "if" with Archer's shot, but fail to mention any ifs with our chances...

Indeed. KMc had big smiles at the end of the match. I'll wager he is pretty happy with draws against Fulham, Brighton and Southampton,.as well as encouraging displays against Liverpool and Manchester City. 5 games down, 3 points. It's not.glorious, but it is not terrible, either, in the best league on the planet. COYB.

True, that's why Arteta switched to Raya. But, as a shot stopper, he's right up there as one of the best in the league and it showed today. Could we have been more clinical? Not made it so easy for him? Perhaps, but I still think Bazunu would have let in one or two of our earlier chances.

Wasn’t a bad result or performance by any stretch. That we’ve gone away to Southampton, at worst matched them and come away with a draw and some are saying we played badly says a lot about a) how far we’ve come and b) some delusion within the fanbase. Need to get into the real world a bit, but that’s not to say it wasn’t frustrating. It was frustrating largely because I thought we deserved more until the 95th minute when we were finally rewarded with it. I think we can and need to be a lot more clinical in the final 3rd but I’m sure that’ll come.
