Two years of almost perfect away days 20:36 - Oct 5 with 2737 viewsAsa

That was like every crap thing about away days rolled into one.

Horrible stadium
No atmosphere
Horrific acoustics
Poor view of the pitch
Poor food and flat drink
Couldn’t stand up without having your ticket checked another six times
Horrible team performance
Horrible individual performances
First minute goal conceded
Drubbing

Can’t complain on balance over the McKenna era but today was as grim as you can imagine.

Must have missed something as well no doubt.

Need to hear more about this ticket checking business. I thought I saw someone say that all the security etc was way outside the ground so then you were free to move about?

So the security getting in actually seems quite well designed (which I guess it was as it was for an Olympic games)

There was a security pat down and cursory ticket check to access the outside of the stadium area - and you could walk around the ground at that point. Those access points meant it was fairly easy to control access - as the surrounding area had lots of canals etc. providing natural barriers.

Then when you entered properly their was another patdown and then the ticket went in the turnstile machine.

Ticket guys at the top of the stairs were helpful too.

Seemed fairly secure to me in terms of keeping unwanted people out.

It’s because people with upper tier tickets could get into the lower tier as they’re not separated by anything so for the lower tier blocks there was strict ticket checking with a few stewards at the entrance of the blocks.

If it was then it is probably made in UK anyway.

Never really understood the fuss about lagers - hardly ‘live’ keg beer.

Oddly enough I think Peroni is just about the only 'popular' lager that is actually brewed in its country of origin.

A few years ago there was a bit of PR nonsense where only 'approved' pubs were allowed to stock it. No roughhouses. Didn't last long. I'm sure I've paid over £6 (for someone else's) in a basic bar.

Why would you have an upper tier ticket & try to get in lower tier. According to mates in lower tier the view was sh!t, Had a cracking view in upper tier 2nd row from the front
