How many Home games do the dedicated Away fans go to? 17:15 - Oct 31 with 2192 viewstommcd

The way the points system is playing out it looks like the majority of tickest go to folks who attend most/all the Away fixtures. But I've often wondered (and never bothered asking) how many Home games does the typical dedicated Away follower go to? Are most also Season Ticket holders? Are there many who go Away frequently, but rarely home? Etc.

If you don't go to home matches much, why is that? Time? Money? Inability to get tickets? Just that Away is more fun?

Personally I'd probably opt for 50% Home, 50% Away if given a free choice, and given my own circumstances, but everyone's different. I'm curious.

I do all the homes and all the aways, as do a couple of my mates. As a general rule if we have to do something on a football day, we’d rather miss a home game than an away

I have a chum at work who can't get any tickets to home games, but goes to all the away games as he has the points.

I’m a ST holder, but usually end up missing a game or two at home each season.

Will probably do 15 or so away games a season and have done since the return from Covid as by then kids were old enough to look after themselves if they’re at home on their own for a few hours.

Before that, still did the same amount of home games, but around half the number (or sometimes less) away games as my wife works shifts and the kids were younger. Added to that I also used to marshal at Foxhall Stadium on Saturday nights for the stock car meetings, which had an impact on away games.

Season ticket holder and only ever miss a home game if I'm unwell.

Away games, as many as I can. When I was younger I used to do them all. Then, as I started our family I missed a lot of away games due to a lack of money and spending time at home with my son.

Now he's 14 we've been doing the away games together for the last 4 seasons. Went into this year on 24 points so did 14 away last year. This season we're doing all the away games. The credit card is taking a battering but we go with my mum and who knows how long our premier dream will last. Seeing the game through the boys eyes and watching him see his football hero's on the pitch is amazing. We're enjoying the ride.

Season ticket holder and hardly miss a game each season
Away games, tend to see 50% of away games

The points system works well for those who attend a large amount of away games
Regarding those without season tickets the club has hit those who attended a large amount of home games last season, it does not seem fair that fans who have not seen the team play in the past 2 seasons have a greater chance of getting home tickets

I go to all but 2 or 3 of the home games and all away games that are not midweek. I can go to London or around midweek, but anything further I have to give it a miss midweek at my age.
Sorry, should have said, season ticket holder for more years than most are old.

I go to all the matches home & away now, with a home game a 220 mile round-trip. Missed out on a season ticket as they disappeared while I was clicking so I have to be quick on the mouse at 10am each time.

Living in the Northeast home games are a mare to get to, would dearly love a season ticket, but can't justify it. I try to get to as many away games as possible, not doing too bad this season, after trailing around the country last year.

I thought that was going to be my problem.

Had a PR season ticket from mid 80s and started going to away games with my mates on the supporters' coaches from the inaugural season of the Premier League in 1992/93 and have been going to away games ever since, generally now by train. I enjoy the travel, drinking local beer wherever I am and mooching around a new town or city, although I have a couple of bases I've got to know quite well now: Preston for west of the Pennines, Doncaster for east of the Pennines, Birmingham for the midlands.

I'm sort of trying to do the 92 (done 69 of the current 92 now), but this season I can't really afford to be choosy as too many people will overtake me points-wise, so am trying to get to most away games.

I got fed up of the toxic atmosphere under McCarthy so stopped buying a season ticket back then, but carried on going to away games for the reasons stated above, and also because the atmosphere amongst away fans is different, and normally upbeat. I decided I'd like to see us play at PR in the Prem again, but thought I'd struggle to get tickets now, but have managed to get one for every game I've tried for, so been pretty lucky.

I go to all away games, and maybe half home. I am a ST but the people I go with are not, so we can't get tickets together easily any more. It is annoying, but I much prefer the away games and I am seeing a lot more people return to PR (and new peeps as well of course) because of the home ticket policy. This ultimately will ensure if we build another 5-10,000 capacity in the next few years we can actually fill it.

Poll: If we sing for 90 mins for all remaining games, how many points is it worth?
