Not convinced Amorin is really ready for Man Utd, I just don't think he has experience managing a club with that sort of expectation. I also think, if we start off hard and smash them early with a couple of goals, then we can quickly erode their players confidence.
It seems we have 3 factors to consider - they may play with 3 centre backs, implement his high pressing philosophy (is this really any different to any other teams high press strategy?) and keep Fernandes quiet. |  |

I would imagine that the expectation at Sporting is very high - maybe not on a continental setting but definitely domestically.
Their players will want to impress their new manager and after their last few results they will be high on confidence.

I honestly think it's the worst time to play them. New man in and everyone wanting to impress. Not impossible but this will be a very tough game. They already have stabilised and built a bit of confidence and positive momentum under ruud.
Time will tell but I think amorim looks a great appointment. | |

Whilst I agree pressure is high, it isn't as high as Benfica (and Porto?) and the rest of the league bar Braga are not very good..............

I have no idea, I read 4-2-2-2 somewhere else. I think playing like we did Sunday is a sensible idea, we have to show them a respect else else they will hurt us, but just not too much. | |

That was what I had assumed looking at the Leicester score - but the underlying data did not look so one-sided TBH. And it was Leicester....
I know that they have "better" players than us, but as I understand it Amorin's historic success has not been built on having 11 super-stars on the pitch at once - more about having a pattern of play that was hammered into them. If he is a purest, then there is a decent amount of risk for them if they try and adopt a new playing philosophy on the back of a handful of training sessions... | | | |
