He's up into the England U21 squad still which I guess may show the dearth of number 9s coming out of academies as such a demanding role.

Much like ourselves, where he offered absolutely nothing to the team, Oxford are of the same opinion and haven’t been playing him him, Spurs recalling him for lack of game time. The guy has had oodles of opportunities, but hasn’t impressed at any club he’s been at through every league level, I’ve literally no idea how, why, or when he received such accolade as a prospect, but clearly as he’s got older, he’s become very average indeed, some people just don’t make it, but why Spurs don’t just cut the guy loose, is unclear. |  | | |
