I know he has to say it but... 17:27 - Jan 31 with 1903 views | gtsb1966 | I would be very surprised if Clarke and Al-Hamadi do have futures at Town. Nothing against the players but I just can't see it.

I know he has to say it but... on 17:32 - Jan 31 with 1833 views | MK1 | I would have to agree. Godfrey is a loan, so if we go down, perhaps Clarke can come back in, but if we stay up, I can't see it.

I know he has to say it but... on 17:35 - Jan 31 with 1816 views | Nutkins_Return | Odds are we will get relegated. In which case I'd be pretty certain Clarke will be back in the squad next year. Al Hamadi would most likely be back in the squad. I think he has more to prove on his loan of course. But he showed with us he was a capable 3rd striker at champ level and would save us a a few quid in only needing 1 and not 2 new strikers (replacing Delap).

Clarke I agree, and he has the attributes and ability for a defensive role, but AAH is miles off it technically for this league.

Quite. I would say we're more likely to drop than stay up, at which point the following probably move on: Tuanzebe (out of contract) Godfrey (loan) Johnson possibly given he's apparently on a high wage and there might be PL interest from a promoted side Delap Others Not unthinkable that both players come back into the reckoning if we go down.
I know he has to say it but... on 17:47 - Jan 31 with 1634 views | LegendofthePhoenix | What we've learned this season is that even star players in the Championship are largely just about good enough to have a starting role in a team that is battling relegation in the Prem. Anything less than a star player in the Champ is just a squad back-up. So If we stay up, then it would take some performance of them both to come back in, especially as we would hope to move on to a stable PL team. Maybe not impossible, but in terms of probability you would get very good odds. Different if we go down.

I know he has to say it but... on 18:14 - Jan 31 with 1512 views | Trequartista | I like Clarke, I think he showed enough potential before his long achilles injury, and would be happy to have him in the squad next season whichever division.

If we stay up, which I think we will, then we will be looking to kick on and look for mid table security next season. If we stay up, which I think we will, then our back 4 or 5 would have played better than the first half of the season. So Axel (new contract), Johnson and Godfrey(signed) will also be here next season. If we go down, which I don't think we will, then Godfrey and Axel are likely to go, so Clarke would likely be back in. That's what I think anyway.

And the one below by the looks of it. But it’s a funny old game, as the saying goes. I’m old enough to remember our fans writing off a certain Chris Wood.

I know he has to say it but... on 10:45 - Feb 1 with 678 views | SaffronWaldenBlues | Clarke hasn’t been any worse for us than Johnson, who was a Premier League player before coming here. Clarke is being unfairly dismissed by virtue of being one of the League One players, he’s not been that bad. It’s almost like some supporters are desperate to see our longstanding players cleared out.

I'm really not sure why everyone seems to think Tuanzebe is going just because he is out of contract in the summer. Wolfie was out of contract too until yesterday, and Axel is an experienced Premier League player, I'm sure its a matter of time until a new contract is agreed.
