If I understand the regulations correctly, we have four loan slots left for players from abroad. We're allowed a total of six and we only have Godfrey and Cajuste on our books at the moment.

Striker? on 14:25 - Feb 3 with 2556 views | textbackup | We went into our first PL season in 22 years with 2 strikers, 1 of which has had injury issues, and another was unknown at this level. A CM who has quality but can’t manage 90mins A CM on about a billion quid but hasn’t been much kop And 7267 small number 10’s who could still make it at this level, but currently look some way off. Not a great situation all round really. On the plus side, O’Shea has looked good

And O'Shea is replacing a player who has looked competent at this level when called upon. Same with Greaves. We seem strong at centre back but have issues everywhere else.

Small point of order. 3 strikers. Delap, Hirst and AAH

Someone hungry from the lower leagues maybe. I’ve not really seen much of him but someone like Miles Leaburn was really highly rated then injured and now back playing. Could be a project?

We aren't searching for backup though,we need a genuine 3rd option IMO. The game has changed, match day squads are bigger,a 3rd genuine number 9 option will get a lot of game time, regardless of whether Delap gets a suspension and/or Hirst gets injured again...

At the very least we should have been looking into bringing Iheanacho on loan for the rest of the season. When he's going on loan to Boro, he would surely been in our budget. Perhaps we have our eye on someone else, but if we're to survive, we need someone else IMO. And a central midfielder on top of that.

Striker? on 14:49 - Feb 3 with 2167 views | J2BLUE | Enciso averages 5+ shots per 90 minutes in the Prem so it makes me wonder if he will be played as a striker if needed. Having someone up top who shoots on sight might be exactly what we need. It's not ideal, and I do agree we need a striker.

Obviously not an upgrade to Delap, but we seem to be freely spending on endless wingers / number 10's.. If Delap or Hirst get injured then were done simple as.

He played well Saturday. But looks a total Lone Ranger. Was everywhere, all the time, which is great. But not sure it helps the team as such, if that makes any sense

I thought that, he's a real handful though and it was only his first game at home, maybe the old 'trying too hard' ? Need goals from the 3 behind, expect Broadhead to get a couple now he's getting a run in the team, Szmodics and Enciso to chip in from that position (never did like Szmods out left) ....having Burns and Ogbene out is more impactful imo...relying on Omari really...

I agree with this, but players looking from the outside in would see it this way, which makes it difficult to persuade many to come here IMO

Or players looking from the outside in would know that Delap is off in the summer, so they would have a real chance of being the main guy next season...
