Jamie Vardy anyone? (n/t) on 18:19 - Apr 24 with 1101 views | MK1 | One hell of a player in his day. Unfortunately, those very good days are gone, but I still rate him. He isn't right for us, but for someone, he won't disappoint.

Jamie Vardy anyone? (n/t) on 18:42 - Apr 24 with 1055 views | HighgateBlue | I believe he's started over 30 games in the premier league this season. So his fitness doesn't seem to be in question. He's scored 7 times. That's not too shabby in a team that's struggled. His form was much better earlier in the season, but then that's true of his side as a whole. He's clearly been one of the best natural finishers in the country over the last two decades. His best days are clearly behind him, but he's a different sort of goalscorer to what we've had under McKenna, and if McKenna wants to experiment with different ways of trying to win a game, we could do a lot worse. However, he's an ageing "name", so there could be a huge money move to some retirement home league. In that context, he wouldn't be cheap, and we wouldn't want to spend really big wages in the championship on someone who's 38 and doesn't obviously fit with our primary system. I think there's an argument for it if were reasonable value, but I suspect it wouldn't be. I do hope we include experience in our blend of signings over the summer, and with the mistakes that were made last year, I'm sure we will.

Doubt it. The Wrexham fans hate him with a passion from his days at Fleetwood.

When he scores a 94th minute winner in their first game, that will all be forgotten. Your average football fan is a fickle beast.

Nodge must be interested. £130,000 p/w must be their level.

Jamie Vardy anyone? (n/t) on 20:30 - Apr 24 with 834 views | bluebudgie | Town were among the clubs that wanted to sign him from Fleetwood. His last home game for Leicester is against us. What's the betting? He goes out with a bang!
Jamie Vardy anyone? (n/t) on 23:42 - Apr 24 with 663 views | Churchman | I’m surprised he’s started 30 odd games. When I’ve seen Vardy he’s looked like he’s been wearing lead boots. At 38, big wages, surely we’ve moved on from the has-beens topping up their pensions. He’s been a terrific footballer and rightly received lots of plaudits over the years, but let’s try and do better.
