2 weeks until the start of the season, surely they would have done it by now.

I really don't understand if they get away with it again, clearly someone somewhere has a soft spot for them.

Maybe so but it’s ridiculous things like that aren’t sorted before the start of the season, but saying that I think the Sheff Utd one last year(?) was announced at really late notice but still prior to the season starting?

For the first charge, Leicester were referred to the independent commission on May 20th, and the investigation was expected to take 3 months.

Personally think it's more likely that the relevant leagues want to make sure that nothing they do leaves a get out as Leicester are almost certain to employ some top sports lawyers to try and get out of it.

Interesting though that Leicester have got the EFL on the back foot nearly as much as Man City have intimidated the FA.

Listening to the expert the other week on the second tier it will happen, they are up on two charges.

Penalties are frequently applied during the season. The expert actually thought the punishment would be severe as they had annoyed so many people who deal with it.

For the first charge, they were referred to the independent commission mid-May, on the fast track procedure which still takes around 12 weeks. So it will be mid-August when that concludes.

The 2nd case is a little behind that. There is potential that they get a first punishment in August, and a 2nd around Christmas. There is some significant jeopardy in their season.

Given how early this process is beginning (and there has already been a lot going on in the background with the pending non-compliance investigation), I think there is a very good chance that the case will processed quickly, leaving a lot of time to also conclude the appeal.

Leicester gave the EFL a bloody-nose, and they want to make an example of them imo. Within the rules ofc, but I'm sure (given the history) that they will be very careful to ensure a very strong case is in place.

I still stand by this assessment - time will tell, and we should know about the first charge in about a month.
