OGS or G'ON.

My head's gone over this.

Spectacularly short-sighted scope in terms of recruiting a boss.

Surely there’s someone else in the pipeline and the club are just happy for these names to be published to keep our actual target out of the news?

Doesn't exactly scream of looking at every market, as was stated would be the case, does it?

Needless to say I'll support whoever ends up in charge, I always do, but can't pretend I'm not underwhelmed.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

I think KOA are MA's mouthpiece, to me it seems like they have been given the green light to prepare the fans that it will be one of those two.

I think McKenna has masked a lot of Ashton’s football nous. Think we might see it fall apart very quickly.

Recruiting hasn’t been great for 2 years, either which is a concern without a manager who has an idea on what he wants to do.

Look at all the clever appointments in the PL over recent years, this is nothing like those. Neither of these will last the season.

I have the scoop, its Klopp

My friend sitting near him, as I type, and Klopp is on the phone moaning someone is spending too much on a player. He's complaining to the person on the phone, saying how many more times do I have to keep telling you, don't use that, you can get it cheaper.
His talking in English, it must be him chatting to Ashton and telling Ashton a player is too expensive because Ashton is using the wrong (and overpriced) scouting software/company and/or speaking to the clubs directly. Apparently Klopp has said it 4 or 5 times, 'how many more times, use the app I told you for cheaper options'

I'm happy to bring the news our new manager is Klopp

I’m much less sure about that.

If they had the nod from the club that they were deciding between these two (or had decided on one of them) that is a pretty huge story.

They’d lead with that, and quite rightly. They’d get loads of clicks.

The idea that they’d bury the lede in this way by dropping it in as an aside in a podcast, just doesn’t ring true. I think it is much more likely that Alex was just extrapolating from the current media noise/bookies odds.

To be fair some posters on this forum said the same about David Moyes when he joined West Ham - but he kept them up and won a European trophy. The same posters said the same again when the dinosaur Moyes joined Everton - but kept them up and just had one of their best seasons for a long time.

The difference is that there were people on this forum (me included) who recognised the many many years of excellent management Moyes had behind him.

Even those who think that OGS/GON represent the best of the available managers that have PL experience have to make excuses for their various sackings.

Neither are particularly exciting but maybe that’s a good thing. Dampen down any expectations and have a stunner of a season.

Just got to be better than Hull, Cov and one other. Doable, right?
