"I don't see them having the budget to sign players for this level"

A typical Leeds fan. One season in PL and think they are massive.

Just shows that it's not just about how much you spend, but that how well you spend it matters.

Never forget that on 7th. April 2021, for ITFC, the Game Changed.

tbf, he's comparing bournemouth to ipswich, not leeds.

also, leeds could spend less as they already had the basis of a prem squad and academy from their years in the prem compared with our squad which had largely been built in league one

They also had a PL infrastructure to back it including a stadium able to stage Premier League games, albeit ageing.

It’s also wages. We weren’t on the same level as established PL clubs last time, and we won’t be this time either (although we should be a bit closer)

While I agree, they were also in a better place than us going up. I know we popped them, but playing them directly, they clearly had better players than us in the Championship.

They were starting from a high base as well, having come down a couple of seasons before. Gnonto, Piroe, Rodon, Ampadu. They had an £80m front 4 when they beat us 4-3 at PR in the Championship.

Different kettle of fish vs. a club that had done back to back from L1.

To be fair, Leeds fans don’t need to be in the Premier League to think that they are a massive club.

You make a great point, clearly some fans football IQ not all that, we HAD a league one P&L and could spend much more than even many European clubs.

Problem is…, while you’re pee’ing up the side of a wall for who spent most .., isn’t what’s important thing, who signed better players and got better outcomes?

They signed Stach, Okafor, Bijol, Gudmondson, Nmecha, Dom CL…, I mean it’s not that they’re better than all the players that we bought (the ones we’ve retained.., and even the ones we didn’t) it’s that they are THREE TIMES above our level, at least!!

Have you actually seen them play? Them getting 47 point was a clue.

You do know 47 is a lot more than 22, and as you say, we spent more than they did.

Not sure you’re making the point you think.., as a fan I couldn’t care less what we spend relative to others, as long as it’s within governance.

I DO care about outcomes. League tables, results, quality, performances, and talent ID for our long term future.

They’ve SAILED past us for ONE reason.., and only one.., they did recruitment a million times better than we did, with the same resources, we were ahead of them two years ago, and both with strong revenue they’re miles ahead of us now.., they have a squad that will expect mid table.

As of today .., our 25 would tried 10-15 points if that.

Weird that you think that we are the success story with the same money spent. Even through rose tints, you couldn’t be more wrong.

One sort of minor detail is that Leeds didn’t have to spend as much money as us - within the last six seasons they’ve spent four in the PL. In that time we’ve spent a couple in L1.

Our recruitment has been much criticised but until recently yhe clubs infrastructure was still L1. I would like to think that our recruitment will be much better as the club has employed more and hopefully better people.

Yes, but he implies his football IQ is superior so he knows best. That means if their signings are 4 or 5 levels higher than ours, we’ve spent £890m (may as well bump up the figure as he does) on L2 and conference players. Disgraceful!

An ITFC fan? With never a good word to say about it, I doubt it.

Strange then that nearly every post you make has reference to a monetary amount, usually an invented figure around £200M

I think he was looking in a mirror when he came up with the 'football IQ' quip.

I've pointed out to him on several occasions how his grasp of football finances is so lacking, but he invariable disappears or changes his argument when challenged on facts with credible references.

He's best ignored, and allowed to waste his time on these walls of text he loves to generate.

Transferring his argument to international teams, Cape Verde have no right to compete with the big boys because individually their players aren’t worth much……
