is in talks with Brentford, as per Ornstein in the athletic today.

If David Ornstein is reporting it you can believe it 100 per cent. His uncle heads up one of the biggest player agencies in the world.

Would like to think we could tempt him over Brentford, you'd imagine he'd get more game time here.

Poll: An interesting day for our politicians, but which one is worse?

The average wages Brentford pay is something like £20k a week higher us (based on last time we were in the prem). We'll likely be paying more this time round, but it's still so hard to compete. Maybe we could offer decent performance based bonuses.

The KOA podcast with Kieran Maguire was really interesting on the finances and disparity between clubs in the prem.

Or maybe we could offer more years?

Well given that we're amongst the favourites for relegation and knowing that his contract would reduce if we went down, I'd imagine any more established PL club is going to appear more lucrative

Or maybe we can just walk away and not sign a player looking to end his career with a big pay cheque

He wont be coming here then that is now very unlikely

If the links we're getting are accurate, perhaps it's the case that we're now looking at bigger fish than Wilson?

I'd be happy with that if so, just as long as we can land our striker targets this time around.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

I definitely agree with you that the KOA podcast with Kieran Maguire on football finances, changes with SCR and a focus on Town was really interesting!

Doesn't want to play in front of a crowd.

Move on quickly. Would have been nice, but we want players who want to come here and fight for our club.

We should be able to compete with the likes of Brighton, Forest, Brentford, Bournemouth, Palace, and Fulham based on size of attendances etc. the only way we can compete with the big boys is to get owners from the far east or more realistically improve the size of the stadium asap. If GON keeps us in the PL this season, we should be looking to develop the stadium the following season otherwise loose momentum. Commercially the club is improving but still lagging behind other PL clubs. Thats why improved match day and non match day facilities need to improve. Weddings, concerts, job fairs, beer festivals, industry award ceremonies or trade shows.

yeah really interesting. Hopefully SCR improves things for us this time around. We were so far behind in our last premiership season. I'm glad I didn't know it at the time really as it's depressing.

As with 2 seasons ago it is going to be extremely challenging (though not impossible clearly) to compete with established Premier League clubs for these sorts of players. I'm hoping that we find a few less known gems that can become PL stars.

Not this again.

Reminder, Sam Morsy did not want to come here. You don't just move on from players you want because they entertain offers they may deem better.

Obliviously Wilson likes money above projects.

As painful to watch as it is, he will likely go to Brentford(who would have ever thought that years ago ? )over us. Better wages, Better chance of staying up. We have to face facts, we may be a bigger club in size but we haven’t been around in the Prem long enough to convince players.

I felt that he would opt for Coventry if they were able to present a decent offer. He's from that area and they were the club that put him on the map.

Seemed like it would be a full circle moment to reunite in the Premier League.
