Looks like the Scum have signed him from wet spam

Didn’t we put in a bid for him when he was at Preston?

I never understood the hype, decent enough but never looked the real deal to me.

He's not that great, and not sure we were ever properly in for him. Great money spinner for Preston.

The same Norwich who beat Spurs in a friendly yesterday?

I’m surprised they have time with all the victory celebrations being arranged.

£3m according to Spammers journo on twitter plus add ons if they get promoted, seems a lot for him?

Yes, he along with Marley Watkins, then of Barnsley, were cited as replacements for Daryl Murphy all the way through the January 2017 window. Preston were wanting something like £2.5 million and when he scored a late equaliser for them against us at Deepdale, Simon Grayson joked that he was now going to be worth £4 million. Evans generously gave McCarthy £20,000 for Kieffer Moore instead.

Grant Holt mk2.

Doesn't have a goal scoring record to shout too loudly about but he's a bit of a brute, and hard working, albeit a little clumsy. Will probably be highly effective for a dominant Championship side.

£5m feels like a lot, funded by the tax payer of course.

Just their 10th signing of the summer. In many ways they are more savvy than us.

Think we offered something like £1.25m and wouldn't go beyond that.

Suffered from being an overpriced panic buy. On a massive contract and lacking football or the ability to be a Prem regular. Will do find in the Championship as a workhorse, but it does suggest that Farkeball is not what they planning on doesn't it?

I also saw him miss from about 3 yards out right in front of me, which still makes me chuckle.

How is that funded by the taxpayer?

Playing staff and support staff are classed as two entirely different thing.

Players are not PAYE

All other staff pretty much are....so can be furloughed.

The Canary t**ts probably paid more in taxes over the past 5 years than we earned (definitely more than we've spent)

I hate them but making stuff up just makes us look sad (you actually).

I'm not talking about the legality, but the morality. To exercise their right to furlough non playing staff in the same year they're on course to post profits of c. £40m stinks, quite frankly, when we're facing into crippling levels of national debt that will impact a generation.

I appreciate the irony of you calling them 'canary t**ts' while accusing others of looking 'sad' though.

News article suggest Pukki still first choice and Hugill is all about having a plan 'b' that they lacked in the prem

Solid signing if that's how he's going to be used, I'm sure he will do well for you, just not sure he's £5 million's worth of well.

Football Clubs aren't responsible for the National debt.

You totally ignore the amounts football clubs pay in tax so morality has nothing to do with it...in fact clubs are owed support for non playing staff in the same way restaurants are owed support for their waiters even though restaurant chains make hundreds of millions.

..and even though facts aren't seemingly important anymore....the transfer is 2.6m up front..

Owh. I ignored it the other day but I feel the need to bite again.

I'm not a Norwich fan.

I get im not a big Ipswich fan anymore either. I dont go to the games and haven't done for a while and before signing up on here didnt really discuss ITFC for the past 5 or 6 years.

I still watch more Ipswich matches than any other club though. I dont have the same Norwich hatred because too many of my mates are Norwich fans. They don't take the p*ss about our current lowly status in football because they know it doesn't bother me much.

I like to talk general football in the mean time and I try to watch some ITFC games via iFollow so I can at least offer an opinion
