I think we'll see a few more of the yoots given a game tomorrow plus maybe Hawkins getting some minutes. Give Downes until the weekend, if Palace haven't met his valuation by then he should be available for selection on Sunday.

Need him to start on Sun really. The performance vs Bristol Rovers was really encouraging but the only — admittedly rare — warning signs that cropped up involved physicality and defensive nous in midfield. Wigan have been weakened but still have some good operators who can expose that. [Post edited 7 Sep 2020 11:51]

Who would you exclude from Saturday's lineup to fit him in? Bishop the most likely candidate for me, tho thought he did well in the Cup game.

Nolan, right? But it'll probably be Dozzell. Bishop adds something we really don't have and I think PL does know that.

Nolan for me, he did ok but still a bit ponderous on the ball - Bishop broke the lines better. I'd put KVY in for Toto, with Chambers at CB and Downes for Nolan - plus whoever is fittest out of Hawkins or Norwood in for Drinan

It's meaningless and about the only games I'll forgive rotation in (aside from perhaps the Carabao). If he's still a Town player at the weekend I would expect to see him start vs. Wigan.

This is the big thing though - did Nsiala do anything to deserve to be dropped for next week? We can’t refuse to accept rotation then ask for it when someone has come in and has did his job. Downes for Nolan I get, as the latter was our quietest player on the pitch on Saturday. Have KVY play against Arsenal U23s tomorrow for match fitness and then, if the first half doesn’t work out on Sunday, bring him on at the interval. Cornell; Vincent-Young; Kenlock, Wilson, Ndaba; Skuse, Huws, El Mizouni; Lankester, Edwards, Norwood Obviously injuries will play in a part in who we pick.

I don't think it is rotation getting back to your strongest team - Chambers was very good at RB but ultimately I want KVY there as soon as he is fit to do so

If we leave him out and Palace haven't come back by the weekend we can say we really did everything you could have asked of us and now it's time to get back to business.

I do wonder if Toto will play better whilst there are no crowds.

The question is whether Bishop and Downes are too similar in role. It's a nice problem to have, but how much do you risk breaking up a team where things seemed to click in order to bring in better players who were sidelined on Saturday?
