Personally I would go for Gio. Adds the attacking intent from deep. Players up front would need some service, defenders would have more influence only on one aspect of the game.
Holland would add leadership qualities as well as influencing defence and attack but I still think Gio personally. | |

OK, slightly more sensible answer:
A CB who could dominate in both boxes would be useful. A De Vos or a Matt Elliot.
A powerful and/or pacy forward would be useful. Kuqi, Waghorn or Murphy.
But if I could have only one it would have to be someone to take the ball off the CB and dominate/dictate play.....so Magilton or Loan Bullard. | | | |

Magilton is probably the answer though. Someone to set the right tempo, so we are actually using the possession to hurt teams. Plus he’s a leader and would be vocal.
A Murphy or Kuqi would also be good to create that tempo from the front. Worked so hard and bet defenders hated playing against them. | | | |

Left us in 1998 so doesn't hit the description.
Whitton clearly also didn't but I did like the idea his extra height could help keep an Nsiala cross-field ball in play. I think he might need an extra 6 feet height, the leap of Warky and another 20 yards of pace, though.
How can Nsiala play a through ball like the one he did early this season and then get that sort of cross-field pass so consistently wrong? | |
