I don’t think that’s how it works. If people are coming up with theories, it’s not unreasonable to ask what those theories are based on.

Evidence PL wants a job here:
- he hasn’t left
- he’s putting a shift in
- everything he says in pressers about trying to turn us around
Evidence the owner isn’t trying to stalk out the manager:
- he’s been increasingly present over the last few years; his behaviour recently seems no different
- that would be really odd and creepy when he could just start mutual separation talks if he wanted him gone

This is why we need someone young hungry and unproven as our manager (like Dyer), we need that hunger to succeed to come from the top. When you go for old hasbeens that have nothing to prove and could comfortably retire, if they wanted to, then you get situations like this. Lambert probably doesn't care if we don't succeed and just wants a payout now and us winning on Saturday goes contrary to his plan.
Truth be told he probably only joined us for the bonus to avoid relegation and expected to get sacked if he didn't keep us up. |  |

I think you may have had a point ahead of weekend....but not sure what he is playing at now.
It played out like this at Gillingham and Lincoln last year, really really strange press conferences and then signs new contratc and he's back to normal.
Same happening now, and by all accounts sounds as though he put pressure on Evans/LON to come out and back him - but then he's still mardy. You'd have expected that to be the point that he now has a little lease of life again |  |
