Yep, could have condensed the whole book into 20 pages............and i'm being generous.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Only Here For A Visit.. A lengthy account of how much Guinness and Champers he quaffed basically. Started it at sunrise a finished it before sunset the same day. Enough said.

Sounds like it’s as bad as his Bubbly in Brazil effort. Endless tales of drinking with mike parry. Makes Tim Lovejoy’s book seem like Shakespeare

I remember seeing him in the wine bar bit at Waitrose Canary Wharf a couple of years ago, it was scary to see, he looks like that book sounds.

I watched him play for us so that kind of contrast is definitely quite marked.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I received rather a nice little book for Christmas on 01:19 - Dec 30 with 2411 viewsGuthrum

It's called "Got, Not Got: The Lost World Of Ipswich Town" by Derek Hammond and Gary Silke. It's basically a look at ITFC memorabilia through the years, e.g. collectible cards (including some dreadful portraits of our stars from the late '70s - Sun Soccercards).

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

His book 'Alan Bashes the Numpties' got me banned from the TalkSh1te forums for asking 'are drink drivers included in his list of numpties'?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Went to see the "Alan Brazil + Ray Parlour" chat show @ Ipswich Corn Exchange. Not good.

Same thing, endless boring stories of drinking antics.

Quick overview:

Youthful Celtic reminiscences: Getting in free at Celtic Park by climbing a wall ("ah wis pissed on Tennants")

Ipswich Town reminiscences: Being disappointed when he wasn't picked for the Cup Final in '78 ("ah took maself doon the boozer and drank ten pints")

Out for a day at Newmarket races for the first time ("ah stood talking ter this posh bloke aboot the 3.20 an' he sais, all lardy-da likesay, 'Come and quaff endless free champagne with me and I'll mark your card". Well, scrivvens if it were nay Henry Cecil. "Dinnae mind ays if ah doo sor" ah sais to um")

TalkSport reminiscences: Pished at Cheltnum. "Porky an' I started at four am as soon as we gort doon the track. Porky sais 'Yer slurring yer words ya fat bastad' so I stuck the wee nut on. His heid split like a ripe wee melon. Kelvin calt us in, five grand fine, but ah telt 'im, ah wipe ma erse with that sort of poppy".

Drinking with Ray Parlour - "Och, e's a wee ginger lightweight. Ah'd hud four boatils ah bubbly when that sass'nach wee droppit sais "Ah'm goon yem Big Al. Ah cannae tek the pace".

On his family: Ma wife does nay like it when ah'm on a big one. Ah've slept in the wee shed once too awfen, likesay.

I read Andy Cole’s on Boxing Day - comes across terribly. I had heard from a couple of people that he’s not the nicest bloke in the world but the general tone in his book surprised me. Seems incredibly bitter about certain things.
