The bit that fcked me off is once a bod is in a wheelchair, its very easy for them to get fat / very tricky to excercise and lose weight. Mean spirited, stupid and selfish.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

I agree.
It's too easy to think someone is in the chair because they are too large, rather than realising it's a consequence of being stuck in the chair.

I know, I know... ignorance is frustrating.
Indeed. Similar to that other one people trot out about the homeless and/or beggars being able to afford mobile phones. Not realising that it’s much more of a necessity and a lifeline when you’re on the streets.
Or just desperately poor people having a big flatscreen TV that makes life significantly more bearable.
There’s a lack of empathy and emotional intelligence on show – mostly from the people who’ve never had to seriously weigh up choices for stuff like that.

I find it horribly patronising when people speak of not wanting to give a person who is homeless money in case they spend it on drink.
If they were in that position, there's a strong chance they'd need a drink too.

Let's not forget that this is coming from a person with rather dubious moral character herself . According to the former Mrs. Bovey at least.
Pronouns: He/Him/His.
"Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

You make a couple of good points, especially about the TV, I hadn't thought of it like that before.
If she was getting at the health of the nation she has a point as well but having someone in a wheelchair was daft. As a nation though we are in a big problem with health. You never saw such states as you do now years ago, it's the amount of takeaways we (as a nation) scoff down our throats, that and poor cooking with frozen pizzas and frozen chips - and bloody ready meals.
When one travels abroad you don't seem to find so many fat people walking about (I exclude USA), it certainly hasn't helped our Covid death count.
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”

At the age of 60 I imagine they're a little scrambled by now.

Obesity and poverty go pretty much hand in hand in developed countries. So the US and UK as two of the most unequal countries with the largest underclass are going to have proportionally a lot more fat people.
That doesn’t mean people aren’t also responsible individually but a poorer, more unemployed and underemployed, poorer educated proportion of people will produce more people with poor diets and health.
Although there’s also a cultural aspect too I’m sure. We eat a lot more potatoes for example – and that’s probably why the Germans are quite chunky too. And while they eat a lot of pasta in Italy, not a whole vat of the stuff like many Brits do.

I would say it's more about laziness and education - and parenting.
You don't get many fat poor people in the Far East.

Poverty is the thief of time with regards to eating well as well.
I know James Bloodworth isn't normally your cup of tea, but this is a good piece
China now full of it but parents are strict about how much they give their kids - at present.
It's been rife in Thailand for years but they don't seem to be getting much fatter, mind you I haven't been over there for a decade.
me and the wife have been going to the far east every year for the last 15 except last year when went to india. we love the street food in asia ,even if it means you sitting on small plastic chairs. my mrs couldn't make out why the youngster were flocking to macdonals in their droves, when you can get great food in the street for half the price.
forensic experts say footers and spruces fingerprints were not found at the scene after the weekends rows

Pretty much the same here for 20 years. I love the far East.
I went to India once but was stuck in a resort in Goa, what I really wanted to do was sit on top of a train and move around a bit but it was my honeymoon so I just sat in the sun, drank beer and went red. I would like to see more of India but The Far East is where my heart is.

You’re right. I’m thinking more poor people in the Western developed nations where there’s the clear link. Poor people in South Asia, the Far East and Africa certainly aren’t getting fat.

All about the availability isn't it.
It's bit different for the poorest who live on rice and dhal in India, to someone here having a Co-op down the road with a reduced section full of cheap processed food.
