It's only in recent years that I have appreciated how good the Italians were in that era. They got in front and there was no way they were going to let the other side get back in the game. The blocking, time-wasting, bad challenges, the protesting to the referee were all part of the game for them. If you weren't Italian you hated it. They had a winning mentality and they'd do everything within the rules, and quite often outside, just to win the game. | |
