Football 365 Feature on ITFC 09:19 - Jul 17 with 1887 views | jayessess | Makes for good reading! "The squad looks fresher, more confident, more exciting and more dynamic — what else would you expect from Cook? — than it has in years. What this all means is that there is now a clear vision at long last between the hierarchy at the club and the manager. They know exactly what they want from their playing staff and have already been given the keys to unlock that full potential from the get go of this League One season. Ipswich Town have previously been touted as League One promotion favourites on name and reputation alone. This summer, while their obvious rivals continued to muddle along, that favourites tag has never been more deserved." https://www.football365.com/news/opinion-ipswich-town-reputation-league-one-favo

Football 365 Feature on ITFC on 10:27 - Jul 17 with 1577 views | pointofblue | A good read but I’ll be far happier when we get at least an experienced centre back, a further right back, an additional left back and a left winger through the door. Dunkley/Lees, Coulson, Celina and... I have no idea for the right back... come on down...

Burns can play Right Back and Donacien was a solid starter in a better team than ours last season. KVY to start, Donacien on the bench, makes it a lower priority for me. We don't know if Cook (and Dyer and Klug) think(s) that one of the youths (Baggott?) is pushing for First Team action this year. If so we may be able to cope with Toto snd Woolfenden, but I'd still see Central Defence as the biggest priority, and area with biggest potential for improvement. Cellina is dreamland. If it doesn't work out then I would hope that Cook would bring in another player in the Burns mould: hard working, quick and direct. I was so impressed with the speed of Fleetwood's transition from defence to attack against us and he was central to it.
Football 365 Feature on ITFC on 10:56 - Jul 17 with 1508 views | Guthrum | As a long-time Ipswich fan, I will probably remain slightly dubious about this enthusiasm over our new squad until such time as they start actually achieving things on the pitch, but it's nice to read others thoughts that we're putting together a high quality team for the coming season. And as for 'Gatracticos' ...

The difference between what KVY and Donacien can give us is huge though, and KVY has a horrible injury record which might just go beyond the poor treatment of players in the Evans era. If we lose him then I think a key portion of our game will be affected and that’s why I think we should really be looking at that. I’d be happy enough with an experienced centre back alongside Woolfenden and Nsiala plus one of Ndaba or Baggott as our centre back options. Fraser has been known to play on the left and, if we bring Crooks in, that’s the only way I can see us fitting in all of our midfield options. I hope not though; I’d prefer to have one of them on the bench and a proper winger on the pitch.

Dont forget tho we have Burns who likes to play the wing back role.

Tho with Coral we're second favourites (at 8/1) to win the division, behind Sunderland.

It is good to have people saying nice things about us. And, yes; I thought that 'Gatracticos' was a bit clunky.
