I'm certainly NOT supporting Lord Digby Jones, however I do find her presenting really awkward to watch at times. Before anyone starts, it's not a race, class or pronunciation issue there's simply better presenters than her on the BBC IMO. Really feel Samantha Quek has enhanced her reputation as a presenter with the Olympic coverage - like football, it's all opinions. | |

What suspicions do you have? Digby Jones appears to be an unpleasant snob and a bore. Very similar to those who chase posters around on here to correct their spelling, grammar and punctuation. He was subsequently schooled by Stephen Fry, somebody who is far more eloquent than Digby Jones.
Other than that, I can’t see a more sinister motive for his attack on Alex Scott. Especially as he went after Beth Rigby in his same tweet.

Indeed. From the modern, shouty, non-analytical Ian Wright school of punditry. But the trend in modern sports coverage is towards hyperbolic, "colour commentary", which makes much of modern sport better watched for me with the sound off. |  |

One of the things in life I am grateful for is that I can remember John Arlotts commentary and oh there are days I wish he, Johnners and CMJ were back.
When he is being serious Tuffers is actually very good, just he isnt serious often enough. (although the exchange with him and Vaughan about where Long Leg stood be placed was funny)
Some of new presenters are good Daggers and Norcross for instance with the Cookie and Isa being excellent.
