Ipswich vs Millwall - This is a Friendly 15:03 - Jul 31 with 4168 views | BlacknGoldnBlue | Even before the game has kicked off there has been criticism of team selection! I'm sure that whatever the result there will be criticism of formation, players, substitutes etc! Just remember this is a friendly! There is no qualification or points on offer! This is about fitness, avoiding injuries and building relationships with team mates in a very new team! So before you post - remember it is just a friendly!

At the end of the day the 2 players coming in May not be at the high energy level cook demands

If they came in in May they should definitely be fit by now
Ipswich vs Millwall - This is a Friendly on 15:19 - Jul 31 with 3491 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Seems to have chosen his first choice team if Edmundson and Chaplin are not involved. A little surprised they are not at least on the bench and the same with Fraser (suggests he is unavailable for some reason). If people are genuinely unhappy with this starting 11, I would imagine they are generally unhappy people.

With this not being a totally first choice 11 it will be interesting to see how they get on and give us our first little gauge of what we might expect this season. So many little things to look out for - have Toto and Woolfie stepping up to the mark with better players around them? What is the fitness like at this stage? Are there signs that at this stage some pairing are starting to show, and does it look like the team are gelling? Just how fit is KVY? How many more goal scoring chances do we make - even though it’s only a friendly.?

Gobsh!ting ar5eh0les who have nothing better to do with their lives than moan about stuff, if they were as good at being a manager as they are at being moaning bar5t@rds then they could play whatever team they wanted instead of PC as their managerial prowess would have landed them the Ipswich Town managers position a few years ago now, and no football manager games really don't count guys & girls!! Reality check, friendlies mean f**k all in terms of winning and line ups, they do however help loads with fitness, sharpness, team bonding, allows the manager to see if the player can be used in other positions, tactics, formation changes, and to see what the managers starting line up is going to be come the start of the season, there are loads of things that matter more than who's playing and the result in friendly games but tbh I'm bored of explaining this to morons that will never grasp the concept that is PRE SEASON FRIENDLIES!!
Ipswich vs Millwall - This is a Friendly on 16:01 - Jul 31 with 3020 views | The_Major | Many years ago, I remember seeing an article in WSC written about pre-season games. It was written by a chap who as a child saw his team (Lincoln?) beat Town in a pre-season match circa 1980. On the way home with his dad he said something along the lines that Bobby Robson would have been livid with his team. His father laughed and said that Sir Bob would have seen it as a glorified training session and it would be a whole different thing when the season started and this result wouldn't matter one jot. As he then said "The vision I had of a fuming Bobby Robson pouring cold tea over Kevin Beattie's perm swiftly evaporated" And he's right. They don't matter. Going in the other direction there was the matter of Mick Stockwell's testimonial. Sir Bob brought his Champions League Semi Finalist Porto team over and we sent them packing 2-1. That was prior to 1994/95, and we all remember how that turned out. And then of course, the Hospital Cup game at Carrow Road where we won 4-0....

I mean, maybe I've missed it, but I really haven't seen any criticism of the team selection. I've seen some expressions of surprise that Edmundson and Chaplin aren't involved, but that's quite a different thing.

I agree that curiosity is completely different and their omission was a surprise but logic dictates there is a good reason for then not being played but no one is gonna get that answer unless whomever does the press interview after the game explains it, we just have to be patient and see!! With regard to my post earlier, its pretty much aimed at all whom have needlessly lost their sh!t over all the preseason games we've played, the league counts, cups if we wish to play in them count they and every game played in them matter, the important stuff starts 7th August 2021.

An opinion isn't overreacting to anything, if you wish to sit there and consider pre season games as important games to be won, I merely express the opinion of why they are not and give reasons as to why! Anyone who cant see pre season friendlies for what they truly are is a moron and has no understanding of the game its that simple! And what cos I swear lots you are thinking I'm angry.....no i just swear lots, not that anyone's opinion of me matters to me but I just thought I'd point that out to you!!

You obviously don't read fully before you comment do you?? You would have seen in my "overrating" that I state some of the reasons why they do matter and why the result and who's playing doesn't matter at all, but you just comment on on the only things you read if that works for you.

Not reading what I want, its just a typo they happen I'm sure if you read things in full you'd find more typo's from me!! A question for you Oldboy.......Why is it that even reading my initial "overreacting" (see no typo in it this time wohooo) post you still can't acknowledge the fact that I pointed out why results or who's playing doesn't matter but gave my reasoning why pre season games do matter given what the intention is of them................when the reasoning for them mattering is basically the same view as your own?? Unless I totally read your "pre season games do matter" post wrong of course!!

No you have thrown out an opinion in a post to which any of member of this forum can reply to, if it had been just a reply to the OP logic dictates that the OP would have been mentioned somewhere in it, if it had of been I wouldn't have replied because it was directly at someone else!! In other words, stop trying to cover your ar5e when you have nothing there to cover it with!!
