CM options 10:50 - Aug 11 with 2185 viewsDarth_Koont

We look quite light on recognised CMs after Harper and Evans. Would people who went last night now see Humphreys as cover at CM? And is this El Mizouni’s new position too?

On a side note, why is McGavin part of the bomb squad? He looked quite decent at CM last season.

I still don't understand why Downes isn't getting a game.

Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

I think Cook needs to integrate Downes back in to the squad personally.

Need one more, but Idris has the physically capability and technique to be a serious option there.

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

Assume point one was sarcasm? Or did you miss yesterdays news?

I still don’t understand the Downes reference. 😢

It’ll now be one of those TWTD mysteries for me like parking at Gatwick and Battenberg.

I'd have no qualms about throwing either Humphreys or IEM into CM. I'll caveat that by saying as long as Evans/Harper next to them. I imagine we'll be looking for a more battle hardened CM tho.

McGavin looked pretty anonymous in the Bury Town friendly. I was struck by how big and gangly he looked. I thought he'd dominate but did nothing of the sort. Shame.

agree about mcgavin last season. thought he looked to have real potential. disappointed that he's not being involved now.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

I thought both played well last night. Just wonder if there's going to be space for El Mizouni in the squad list. I assume we'll name 4 senior centre midfielders, one of whom will be a new signing. Leaves Nolan and El Miz for spot number 4.

I thought McGavin was ok last year, but then I was comparing him to our other options at the time. He looked neat, but not got bags of energy and don’t think he’s Cook’s type. Seemed like he bombed on loan at Ayr.
Interesting how Humphreys has leap-frogged a lot of players. I thought he was a wide midfielder, not CM.

Think Stuart Watson mentioned we'd been looking at Shinnie at Derby.

Considering we missed out on Morrell, wouldn't mind us bringing in Camps from Fleetwood, NI International, scored a handful of goals last season in a very poor Fleetwood side, rather him over 30 year old Shinnie from Derby

I think el Mizouni won’t count as a senior player. Only 20.

Based on last night I would say that Humphreys and El Miz are a long way ahead of McGavin

Wasn’t the cut-off this year….. 1 jan 2021, not next year.

From the EFL handbook- section 1 General/ Defintions

“Under 21 Player’ means a Player under the age of 21 as at the 1 January in the year in which the Season concerned commences (e.g. for Season 2021/22, born on or after 1 January 2000).”

So El Mizouni and Rakeem Harper were both born AFTER 1 jan 2000 and so qualify as under 21’s.

Corrie Ndaba born on 25 Dec 99 misses out by a week.

Sarcasm towards some who wanted him back in the fold despite his desperation to get away from the club.
