Plumbers. 18:51 - Sep 15 with 1986 views | MattinLondon | Been trying to get a plumber to look at a few jobs that we need to get done. Found it almost impossible to talk to one or one to return calls. Is there any websites out there where plumbers look at and get in touch regarding their availability etc etc. Cheers.

As long as there aren’t any cowboys in there I might well give that pub a call tomorrow. Might get lucky.

No. Manchester. I’m sure an ipswich based plumber would charge a lot to come up here.

Plumbers. on 21:30 - Sep 15 with 1706 views | Cheltenham_Blue | It’s not just plumbers. I’ve got a few jobs need doing at the moment. Getting quotes from anyone at the moment is really hard. Most trades are up to their eyeballs in work, as all these people who haven’t gone on holiday for two years owing to the virus are spunking their cash all over their houses.

London-based plumbers would have to travel a long way, too. Have you considered changing your username, to avoid confusion?

Yeah, but it’s one of those things I never get round to actually doing. I wasn’t being sarcastic or anything with my previous reply to you. It might well have read like that. Sorry if it did.

Check local Plumbers on the CIPHE register, Should find a decent trustworthy guy from there. Most small traders or companies are extremely busy right now. If you were local to me, I would advise, but Manchester is well off my radar!

I think you might be onto something. Having always consulted the yellow pages as I am a complete div at anything approaching DIY, I have in lockdown; Replaced a shower mixer bar after the thermostat went Removed my oven from its housing and (after borrowing a volt meter) determined that the switch had gone so replaced that. Removed and replaced a u-bend under the bath after deeming the current one too short or my wife too hairy. If I can do it, then anyone can trust me.

I can see the logic of what you say - but what with working full-time, a lot of my free time is taken up with my small boys. Being honest, when they go to bed I simply cannot be arsed to do that type of thing. Maybe in a few years time I’ll make the effort.

"If I can do it, then anyone can trust me." You underestimate my uselessness.
