His criteria will be to be able to spend to buy success. Nodge were never going to do that for him but our owners may well. So, yes his salary would be lower but he didn't want a humiliating relegation on his CV. He would rather a promotion with salary uplift.
I hope it isn't him. However, I would not be massively surprised if it was. His first press conference would be along the lines of "there are few clubs I would have dropped down to manage but this is a sleeping giant with real potential and the players to get to the Premier League". Would probably then look to loan in the best of Chelsea's youngsters too. A bit optimistic to manage to get Gilmour, I guess, though. |  |

He did alright with Derby and his first season at Chelsea to be fair. Not sure whether his ego will let him takeover a League One club whilst Gerrard is managing in the Premier League though! If he wants to get back into management he will probably have to drop down. [Post edited 4 Dec 2021 23:20]
