I cannot fathom why Penney isn't playing. He is our first choice left back (Coulson has been injured too much to claim it).
And we're playing academy products who aren't good enough and right backs in his position. He's not perfect but he's by far the best option. |  |

Donacien has been doing very well at RB. Why McGreal felt the need to switch him when he could have brought KVY in at left back I don't know. Perhaps it was something to do with who they would be up against but it clearly didn't work and he didn't switch it during the match when it clearly wasn't working either. |  |

Donacien has been mostly good at right-back this season but switching him to the left just didn’t work.
He just doesn’t look comfortable with his left foot. Still amazes me how many professional footballers struggle with their weaker foot.

Perhaps he thought it would make Edwards more effective on the left to be paired with Donacien? KVY was his former player at ColU, so McGreal ought to know what he can and cannot do. |  |

Not sure of the reasoning. I suspect it was to get KVY in.
Just don’t think it worked. There was a good example in the second half when Donacien was encouraged to make an overlap but completely scuffed his cross with his left foot.
He never looked totally comfortable on that side but, in fairness, there were a lot of poor performances on Tuesday night, KVY included. | | | |

I remember his only 45 minutes at LB for us and that is why it was only 45 minutes, he got taken off at Half Time if I recall. Not sure who it was against but I mean ffs why play Donacien at LB when KVY has played multiple times there for Col U. Also we had Penney on the bench but also another left footed defender in Burgess who has played LB and arguably played there in our best performance of the season against Wycombe |  |

Very strange selection. But he may have learnt and switch it for Saturday. If McGreal had seen Crewe game he would have seen how well donacien worked with Aluko on the right. KVY was outplayed all night. | | | |
