It's definitely boxing day wear, judging by the 'labels' I was given for Christmas.

If we are talking high fashion, yesterday I encountered a family of very wealthy country folk (Judging by their attire and accents) and they were wearing wellies.

Now I never quite understand people who wear wellies on a walk. I always assumed walking boots were more handy, and certainly can be waterproofed and the weather was nothing particularly wet.

Anyhow, each to their own. But what got me wondering was the tassles high up on their posh wellies. Is there a function for them or are they purely the aesthetic reasons?

It was a brand originally sold in the markets of East London in support of the "George Davis Is Innocent" campaign.

So the choice of Bank robbers rather than football hooligans.

If it’s cheap, I’ll wear it. Asda, Tesco, Cotton traders you name it. Even my Barbour coat was half price in a sale. Cheapskate!

That's a good point, actually. If one wants to engage in some pwopa nawty tear-ups, then it makes sense to have more affordable clothing on in case it gets ripped or blood-stained.

This is why there was less trouble in night clubs during the 80s.

People had spent their wages on nice clothes and didn't want them ruined.

Also no one wanted their hair to get messed up.

Would also semi explain why Haverhill was a tad rough in the 80,s. The entire town was decked out in burgundy stay pressed and Y jumpers from the market

That's actually one of the reasons why Stone Island was originally worn - because of the strength and durability.

That last sentence is a carefully calculated dig at Mr Ham, isn't it?
