Think even with that return it would be unlikely as that would mean Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday achieve 13 and 14 points respectively from their final 10 games. The way they're both going, it could be more than 78 required which is insanity! | |

If we get 78 I really can't see us missing out........so had a look at the stats and 78 seems to give us ~1 in 3 chance of getting in the POs, with 79 ~1 in 2 and even 80 just ~3 in 4

Anything but Plymouth winning suits us really. Can't really see any scenario where we've done enough to pass 3 of the teams above us, but Portsmouth catch us up. | |

The issue with looking at previous seasons is that this one is not behaving in a normal fashion.
Perhaps it's the Covid restrictions having affected the finances of some clubs more than others, but there are an unusually large number of quite weak teams in League One this time around. As I mentioned the other day, in the five seasons up to 2018-19, there were only two or three teams averaging less than one point per game at this stage, whereas we currently have six.
That will have a knock-on effect in providing easier wins for the stronger clubs, thus making it tighter at the top, also. We currently have ten teams going at better than 1.5 points per game. Of the five seasons previously mentioned, only 2015-16 comes close, with 9, all the rest are between 5 and 7. |  |

Whereas since January, 6th place has hovered around 79/80 points (average points per game)
It has crept up to 82 (81.7) currently - Sheff Weds. Been edging upwards for around the past 6 games
Thats 7 wins and a draw out of our remaining games needed - assuming Sheff Weds do not win tonight.
It's not I doubt that we are capable of winning most of our remaining games - I fear that as it stands it will not be enough |  | | |
