The Russian lad on trial... 18:53 - May 19 with 1447 views | BanksterDebtSlave | Looks 21 going on 12. From Siberia. I kind of feel sorry for him. Good of the victim's wife to say she has no problem with him being part of a prisoner exchange too. [Post edited 19 May 2022 19:00]

The Russian lad on trial... on 19:03 - May 19 with 1391 views | Kievthegreat | In no way should this absolve him for shooting the civilian, but the bigger criminal in this is his officer who ordered him to shoot a civilian and then threatened him if he didn't do it. That the mother could be so forgiving/merciful given that happened to her husband is remarkable. Although she did specifically say "Azovstal fighters" and I think they are very unlikely to see Ukrainian soil again unfortunately.

If this is how they behave within Ukraine- a country where many Russians view as part of Russia and view Ukrainians as brothers - you have to wonder how the Russian army behaves in Syria away from the cameras.

Thank God no UK politician has been making excuses for them, or trousering money either "The cash was part of a fund-raising blitz that helped propel Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s party to victory in 2019. Records track $630,225 to a Russian bank account." https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/12/world/europe/russian-money-uk-tories.html

If his evidence is accurate then it would appear that the mobile phone has made us all potential combatants as the claim is that they believed he might be reporting their position.

I would think there's a fair chance the Ukrainians have the officer's name, and will be on the lookout for him.

To be fair I don’t think he was overtly pro Russia. BUT his idea that we should send the samples to Russia for their analysis, as if they would suddenly put their hands up and say “got me”, just highlights what an incompetent cretin he is.

Agree with this view of it. Yes, the animal who for whatever reason enjoyed the power of having a civilian who only crime was to exist shot dead, should also be held accountable. So should the officers he is responsible to all the way up to the despot in the Kremlin. The list of atrocities is already a very long one. The Ukrainian people didn’t ask for any of this. They were and are viewed as nothing. [Post edited 19 May 2022 20:50]

I’m saving my pity for the wife and family of the man killed. He can’t be brought back. This young man will have the rest of his life to look forward to when he’s freed or exchanged. Unless of course Putin has him killed for getting caught. Unlikely as that might sound, it’s what Stalin did to many of those Russian prisoners that survived being starved, worked to death or murdered by the Germans. You see, Stalin couldn’t trust their loyalty and their lives didn’t matter. Do lives matter to Putin?

He is unlikely to be freed if in Ukraine. Certainly at risk if exchanged. Many of these kids will be victims too.

You don't think this will have a huge negative impact on the rest of his life? I wouldn't be surprised if what he has to look forward to is a life of mental health difficulties.

Possibly, but at least he has a rest of life to look forward to and a chance of living it.
