Any suggestions for bits of Ipswich that it's a pity that most tourists would never see? (I mean Ipswich proper, not the villages around.). The bricky that was about to lay a brick there slipped and fell to his death.
His bricky mates laid that white brick in commemoration of him.

44 Fore Street, the one to the right of Out Of Time Records as ou look at it, was the home and studio of Cor Visser, he was appointed official artist to the Dutch Royal Family during the second world war.
There are also tunnels under Fore Street, going down to the docks, possibly smugglers tunnels. | |

Have a walk up Henley Road and look at the Ipswich School buildings. Pevsner cites a Victorian guidebook which describes it as the finest Elizabethan terrace in the Eastern Counties. Then go for a few scoops in the Greyhound. |  | | |

That's fascinating and something I didn't know. And talk of the Greyhound reminds me of Berners Street, which is the road we take to the ground after leaving the pub, and is full of lovely Georgian buildings. | | | |
