Apparently inbetween Johnson resigning and Truss getting the nod, our monarch is in charge of the executive.

For about 30 mins.

Lets hope they didn't put the briefcase with the nuclear codes on the other side of the room. By the time she got out the chair we would be dust.

In that 30 minute period can she abolish parliament and rule directly?

He oversaw a culture that allowed it to happen in the building he lived and worked in.

Good enough for me on this, given how my family was personally affected by his blatant disregard of the law (he made)

Johnson behaved appallingly during lockdown. He held and attended several parties at number ten. Quite rightly he's been kicked out of office in disgrace.

But he did not party while the Queen mourned Prince Phillip alone. You don't do yourself any favours by making stuff up. Hit the fooker for what he did do. There is plenty of ammunition.

At her age, think it would take more than 30 minutes to do the paperwork.

Ageist

In any case, she'd still be quicker than #LiarJohnson, who'd still be levering himself out of his king-size at 29 minutes.

Theoretically she can do that any time, it's 'Her' government.

In practice, most of parliament would quickly say "oh we don't need you any more then" and proceed to do away with the monarch.

What really matters at that point, is the loyalty of the commanders of the armed forces - does it lie with the civilian government, or Her Maj?

That truss will be, or boris was, 'in charge' in any meaningful sense is debatable.
