Paying clubs to recall loanees? 13:17 - Jan 6 with 2045 viewsRIPbobby

Do you think this a sensible way to block teams progress? I have never seen it before, but it surely is safer than actually buying a player. Quite brilliant if that is what itfc have done to Whittaker and mcguiness. Genius in fact.

I'm 100% sure that 'paying clubs to recall loanees' would get us a very very significant points deduction.

Did you honestly think that was what has happened?

There's nothing stopping Sheffield Wednesday or Plymouth resigning those players though? Still another 3 weeks or so before the window closes.

To be honest it would be absolutely pathetic for any club to do this. We have clearly not done anything of the sort.

We need to stop thinking we're Dick Dastardly and concentrate on our own race rather than how we can hamper rivals. Plymouth have nowhere near the resources we have and are currently doing better than us. We should be looking to improve our own team and i'm confident KMc will do that.

Truly impaired.

I absolutely agree that it /should/ get a serious punishment, but do you happen to know the rule that it would infringe?

Don't shoot the messenger friend. I was simply suggesting that might be a ploy that is used or has been used in the past. Who knows? I bet much more mischievous things happen. Perhaps a Premier player would bet on multiple football matches... Poops it's happened.

In a week where TWTD has seen some odd takes, odd posts and loud arguments, the OP must go down as the oddest and most pointless of the last few days.

Are you basing this on that mad Argyle tweet about a secret meeting between the "Yanks" that own us and Swansea to take Whittaker off them?

It's as if the internet or phones haven't really cut through down there.

I think this crazy theory might have shattered some people's illusions that the world is a beautiful place and only beautiful people live in it.

I wonder if a club of our stature has ever tapped up a player too. Lol. It happens all the time folks.

I even heard a rumour that we might have once fouled a player when they were through on goal too. Again totally against the rules, but happens lots.

Relax people.

I would imagine it falls under the rules on transfer dealings.
Most likely, Rule 51: Prohibition Of Third Party Investment.

51.1 Unless otherwise agreed by the Board and subject to Regulation 51 .2, a Club may only make or receive a payment or incur any liability as a result of or in connection with the proposed or actual registration (whether permanent or temporary), transfer of registration or employment by it of a Player in the following circumstances:

As a matter of interest, what sort of amount of money do you believe we have paid the parent clubs to recall these players? Is there a guarantee in this arrangement to prevent them re-loaning them back to the same club and/or to any of the other top League 1 sides? Have we ensured they won't loan them anyone else in their place too?

Even Makin finds this one a ridiculous take ... so congratulations on achieving a tough ask there!
