Is this it or do you believe there are still deals in the pipeline maybe involving players possibly been exchanged with cash adjustments and players possibly moving out or deregistered for the season ?

I think they're still keen on Whittaker, so that might well still happen. Not sure about anything else. Don't think we need cover in many other areas, do we? As you allude to, the 22-man squad is now 22 men strong, so if we bring in a player over 21 then Ball, presumably, would have to be left unregistered.

Which would make sense as he isn’t going to kick a ball again this season.

That's not what was said, was expected to miss most of it rather than all of it. However, that might not necessarily now be the case and there might be a good case for leaving him out for the rest of the season if he might only be involved in a couple of games towards the end to get someone else in who would be involved more regularly.

I think we have 22 outfield seniors, excluding Ball, plus Humphreys and TJJ who are U21s.

Davis
Burgess
Woolfenden
Donacien
Leigh
Edmundson
Keogh
Vincent Young

Morsy
Evans
Luongo
Camara

Harness

That’s one hell of a squad at this level. A space could be made by sending Ahadme out on loan. Luongo takes Ball’s place for the rest of the season.

Ahadme can only go back to Burton - three club rule

I spoke to ball before oxford game, he said his aim is to play last month of season.
So guessing de registering would be a blow to him

If he has a set back then we will have wasted a slot though. He’s not going to be match fit and sharp before the end of the season probably as we won’t want to get someone up to speed if we are going for the auto’s still.

Imo leave him out.

Yes, think that's right, so whichever is the least likely to get fit by the end of the season out of Camara and Ball will be left out.

Possible it could be Camara, not sure quite when he might be back. Or both if someone else over 21 comes in, of course.

No, he could play in Ireland or Sweden as their leagues run through the summer but not sure he'd be up for that.

In theory, I'd move Keogh on and get in a better central defender. But in practice, I don't know if that is achievable.

Phil, do you know if we have ever showed interest in Charlie McNeil? Unlikely now given we have signed the two forwards already. Surprised he has never been mentioned given the United links and he is prolific at youth level, now available for a loan

Has there been an update? I was going by this from when he picked up his injury.

Ball Out For Season 12th Nov 2022 17:49
Town boss Kieran McKenna has revealed that midfielder Dominic Ball is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury which will require surgery. 29

Still makes sense to de register both Ball and Camara. And try to end JJ’s loan if possible.

Think I must be misremembering then. I thought it had been said there was a possibility he could be back for the very late stages but looks like I'm wrong on that.

Being back for last month of the season would tie in with something posted on here yesterday following a conversation between the poster and DB at the cup game.

Until the reports from rather dubious sources yesterday I hadn't heard anything. Don't think we're going to be after another centre forward in his mould now.

Of course, his age. I struggle to see where he fits n now we have Hirts and Broadhead though.

Shame really as he was finding some decent form before his injury.

Yes, I saw that and I suspect someone must have said similar to me at some point. I do get the impression they're conservative in terms of how long they say players will be out for.

Whittaker wouldn't count towards the squad would he? Was 21 when the season began.

He would, hadn't noticed that he was 21 at the cut-off point. Was in Plymouth's 22.

I don't think that is right - they could have registered when they didn't need to:

Whittaker is 7th Jan 2001
John-Jules is 14th Feb 2001

So if TJJ is underage then so is MW

I wonder, IF we're genuinely interested in Whittaker, whether that could spell the end of Kyle Edwards? Perhaps he would be moved on having failed to take the multiple chances KMac has given him to perform from the starting XI.
