From Plymouth forum:

“By the time we play league again and the other three all win the top 4 could be
Wed 81
Argyle 80
Barnsley 78
Ipswich 78
All played the same no of games.......wow”

That seemed incredibly close and especially with (finally) all teams on same number of games played!!

Seemed wow, so checked: Plymouth miss a game next weekend due to Pizza Cup with Bolton. And don’t play again till Friday 7th April with a trip to Morecombe.

So wanted to check.

Currently:

Plymouth 38 80
Weds 37 78
Ipswich 37 75
Barnsley 36 72

Matches before Plymouth play again:
Tues 28th April
Exeter v Barnsley
Cheltenham vs Weds
Sat 1st April
Barnsley v Morecambe
Derby v Ipswich
Weds v Lincoln

Which if all the auto rivals playing got wins, the table would actually be:

Weds 39 84
Plymouth 38 80
Ipswich 38 78
Barnsley 38 78

Owls would be 6 clear but having played one more… we’d be very close to Plymouth and tied with Barnsley.

But they won’t all be wins someone will falter. We’ve just got to focus on ourselves (unlike the pointless musings in this post) and just go and earn a win at Pride Park.

Exciting times indeed.

You’ll give yourself an ulcer if you get too bogged down in the permutations. One game at a time. Whatever will be, will be (hopefully we won’t need to go to Wembley).

Innit. We just need to beat Derby and wipe that smug smile of Warne's face.

IF we win that one we're in a great spot, regardless of what happens elsewhere.

I do worry about the health of some of our fan base over the coming weeks.

Why not just enjoy the golden age of fan led cutting edge analysis?

So far this week i've learnt that we need to take it one game at a time, that we just need to keep winning and how many points teams would be on based on potential future results.

It's hard to keep up sometimes.

Truly impaired.

As long as VAR isn't called into play.

Clearly they haven’t noticed our superior GD as there is no way we would be level on points but behind Barnsley. Doh!

I know this will come as a shock to you but if you click the ‘Tables’ button at the top this links you to the league table, confirming the surprising news that yes it is now quite close between a few teams at the top

I like the chaos of not really engaging with other teams until they play. I checked the Wednesday result on Sunday to realise they lost to FGR. Amazing to see.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Can’t see how Barnsley would be ahead of us having played same number of games and on same points given our superior GD! Or have I missed something here?

Haha was thinking the same thing. Some getting a bit hyper over this. One game at a time. No-one thought Sheff Wed would lose the other day, so nothing is predictable.

Get strapped in for the ride and try to enjoy it.....

Another ray of sunshine reply from CHealy… always brightens up one’s day

Please put me on ignore, it’s tedious

Did you get the memo that’s it’s a football fans forum?

I thought the Plymouth forum post was interesting because I mistakenly thought all teams were out of synch in terms of games played till near end of season, and that the mistake and Sheff Weds being ahead on games played point was interesting, I hope a few TWTDers thought the same.

Your condescending comment is as stated tedious

It’s an exciting run to the finish… I fancy analysing it.. that’s my choice.. if you don’t like ignore… just don’t read it… it’s that simple

Also did you actually read it:

“ But they won’t all be wins someone will falter. We’ve just got to focus on ourselves (unlike the pointless musings in this post) and just go and earn a win at Pride Park. ”
