Got to love Roy Keanes analysis on 18:12 - Apr 9 with 2789 views | JackNorthStand | Premier league need to make a stand in this and not pursue any action against the linesman. He has not “ elbowed Robertson in the throat “ what so ever. He’s merely shrugged Robertson away from him. Keane is spot on. Robertson a big baby.

That lino looks as though he can take care of himself.
Got to love Roy Keanes analysis on 19:01 - Apr 9 with 2501 views | Swansea_Blue | He doesn’t appear to be looking at him, so I doubt it was a deliberate elbow. I’m going with the shrugging him off interpretation of that. It does look like Robinson laid his hands on the official first, although again that wasn’t aggressive so all a bit of a storm in a tea cup for me. No doubt it’ll blow up into something though.

I’m going by the only TV angle which I’ve seen and I agree, it looks like the linesman was just shrugging Robertson off. Robertson probably knows this but instead tries to play the victim and run to the referee. Robertson is a complete bell end.

He clearly swore at the linesman earlier in 1st half when he gave a foul just in front of him. Robertson should have been booked for that possibly even sent off. His abusive language to refs and total lack of respect is really unpleasant.

Officials shouldn't retaliate (and it's not entirely clear if he did here or just shrugged him off), but it is hypocrisy of the highest order for players to abuse officials as much as they do and then make such a big fuss about one having a bite back. Frankly, the self-control that many officials have is beyond me! [Post edited 9 Apr 2023 19:55]

Yeah, I don’t know what he’s normally like, but he seems a bit of a drama queen there. [Post edited 9 Apr 2023 19:54]

Swearing/foul language is a straight red. No leeway to give a yellow. Unfortunately this is rarely enforced and leads to a lack of respect.

I agree. Robertson gets a free ride from abusing officials week after week. He gets away with far too much and then this reaction is pathetic. Keane is spot on.

And yet we all complained about the ref Vs Judge a couple of years ago. This isn't "shrugging off". Your elbow doesn't come above your shoulder if you're "shrugging someone off". Shrugging off is done with the shoulder, the clue is in the name.

Indeed. I don't know all the context, rarely watch the prem these days, but looking at that clip above in isolation it looks like a clear as day elbow by the lino. If it were a player doing that they'd be sent off if it were seen.

Got to love Roy Keanes analysis on 12:17 - Apr 10 with 1168 views | bournemouthblue | We had that weird incident where ref squared up to one of our players, was if Norwood or Chaplin, someone like that? I think in fairness, we handled it better and just got on with the game That was weirder than this one though, I think it's just a case of Robertson overacting like the modern footballer can, the problem is, he's trying it on an official and not an opponent

Judge. It was very odd. The officials have the power to issue sanctions so when this happens you have to wonder what lies behind it. As for the incident here, if a player does it, Robertson rolls around on the floor holding his face. Why is that?

Got to love Roy Keanes analysis on 12:32 - Apr 10 with 1127 views | Nthsuffolkblue | There should be retrospective investigation of this. A red card for Robertson for approaching and grabbing hold of the linesman and a suspended ban for the linesman for his reaction would seem reasonable to me. Unlikely the FA will do anything because it is considered fine to approach and argue with and even manhandle the officials. This is where the problem is.

Got to love Roy Keanes analysis on 12:50 - Apr 10 with 1096 views | Clutch | I don't like Roy Keane due to his time at Ipswich. But he's right. Robertson went up aggressively to him, he shrugged him off. What a prick.
Got to love Roy Keanes analysis on 12:52 - Apr 10 with 1089 views | Sharkey | The linesman does nothing wrong is my opinion (for what it's worth). Robertson has no business touching him and the official simply shakes him off.
