He doesn’t appear to be looking at him, so I doubt it was a deliberate elbow. I’m going with the shrugging him off interpretation of that. It does look like Robinson laid his hands on the official first, although again that wasn’t aggressive so all a bit of a storm in a tea cup for me. No doubt it’ll blow up into something though. |  |

Officials shouldn't retaliate (and it's not entirely clear if he did here or just shrugged him off), but it is hypocrisy of the highest order for players to abuse officials as much as they do and then make such a big fuss about one having a bite back. Indeed. I don't know all the context, rarely watch the prem these days, but looking at that clip above in isolation it looks like a clear as day elbow by the lino. If it were a player doing that they'd be sent off if it were seen. |  |

There should be retrospective investigation of this.
A red card for Robertson for approaching and grabbing hold of the linesman and a suspended ban for the linesman for his reaction would seem reasonable to me.
Unlikely the FA will do anything because it is considered fine to approach and argue with and even manhandle the officials. This is where the problem is. | |
