Really interesting interview. Didn't know about his coaching experience - puts a bit of context to some of his excitement with the players. He's more than a suit really isn't he!
I had no idea he had a playing career! Just pop on City fans page later to see what their fans have to say....sure they will pick up. Love this man though - he really is doing wonders.

That was my thought too. He's facilitating others to have the playing highs he never reached. A really interesting interview and career path. His community focus is genuine and it's paying dividends on and off the pitch. Ian Clegg; who are ya?
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
This is well worth a listen. There is enormous clarity about what he, the owners and all at the football club are trying to do. The club is being rebuilt from the ground up.
Ashton is an interesting character. Ok, he can come across as a tad Brentish now and again, but there is far more to him than that.
I noted his comment on his Watford days 20 years ago. He has clearly absorbed and continually learned over the years since then. An easy thing to say, but not all people do learn.
It is fantastic that last weekend all those that work so hard at the football club saw some reward. It can only help/propel what they are trying to do.
Enjoy the ride - I intend to.

Great post Phil you should think about becoming more regular on here. I had no idea about Ashton's life prior to PR and a small mention of his time at Bristol maybe. He comes across really well.
