Yep, was a player on my hit list for January and reckon he was on Ashton/McK’s list too, especially when things were looking dicey at Charlton around that time and the possibility of his loan being ended, would have been a great addition.

That's one we can rule out if you're saying it's happening then what with your Definite Info being even less reliable than Alan Nixon's.

Did you actually draw up a list of players you thought we should get in January?

I offered opinion on who I might like to see us go for in January, yes. I seem to recall wanting a wide player added (amongst others) as Burns had been the worst player on the park most games and there were a lot of calls for him to be replaced by Jackson/Edwards from all over the fan base, but I didn't see either of those being a suitable longer term option.

I know Gamechanger are backing us heavily, but not sure Brazilian international centre-backs from PSG are on Ashton’s list of targets.

I know he was on Town's list in January, so wouldn't be a surprise if there was interest in the summer.

Worst player on the park?? Do you honestly believe this? Fortunately Mc Kenna knows what he is doing

During our dodgy run, Burns was awful, really poor and a lot of people wanted Jackson/Edwards put in ahead of him, that’s how bad. Fortunately, he has turned a corner and put in some great performances that have kept us in the race, doesn’t change the fact that he was really bad for a spell.

Well, at the time they weren’t wrong. I can’t stand Jackson (rightly or wrongly) but even I was open to playing him instead of Burns at that time, from memory.

Not exactly a leftfield pick from anyone either, given his obvious quality and attributes ITFC would clearly want here.

I think people did suggest that Jackson come in for one game to give Burns a rest at some point.

IIRC only one poster called for Burns to be completely replaced...

Sounds insane now, but yes. Not unusual for us tbf, Hirst took quite a while to get going and despite making some good runs now and then, it was difficult to see what he offered from a goal scoring point of view, but now he’s got going and is scoring, I imagine a lot of people prefer him to Ladapo, including the manager obviously.
