Read the article about piggot potentially leaving this summer and have to ask does anyone else agree with me that this is poor from the club? Give the man a chance! We signed him and made a commitment to the player and have hardly given him a run of games. Also, we haven’t signed hirst on yet, so we are still light in the striker department. To me piggot would link up well with Chaplin in the championship and crucially he would be able to take away some of the spotlight from morsy who I think craves that at times and would be very grateful leading to a possible close friendship between the pair |  | | |  |

He's had plenty of chance, that's what training is..he's failed to impress.
He can't make the pompey 11 most weeks. The only thing we owe the player is his contract, which I belive is hefty. I'd go so far as to argue if anyone owes anything Oig owes us some money back for totally failing to justify what's he's been paid |  |

Not inherently true Arnie.
What is evident is that he simply not the 'type' of player that KM needs in that role. Irrespective of anything else, he's nowhere near as mobile as Hirst or Ladapo. He's not able to harry and chase as much as those two.
That, in itself, means he'll not really be a viable option for us, even off the bench, playing the way we currently do. |  |

We clearly thought he had something ( as do Pompey?) but he never seems to get a chance to show it with a run of games. He's 29, if you look at his career he's really only ever had a decent return at AFC Wimbledon.
In 2018, they finished 20th in L1 and he just about reached double figures. 2019 simiar if memory serves, both for AFC W and JP finished with 9. The following season he struggled, then he had his one good season as a goal scorer - good return of 20 league goals and 22 overall.
However, as I say, it's not his goal scoring, or lack of, that is the issue for us. He's not that type of player that can perform the role KM needs. His mobility is poor. Just look at what Hirst and Ladapo have to get through to ensure they contribute to what we are trying to do on the pitch (yes, they've got to score but that's oddly secondary to how they fit into the front three).

We signed Tamas Priskin on the basis of half a good season at Watford and IMO wasn't worth it for the one goal against Arsenal given how bad he was in the League.
