We're bowling nicely for the most part. Unlucky not to have picked up one or two more. Feel like we need to get one of these out before close really, given how little play is likely the last two days.

Looks like the weather will be the winner of this test and the series. Just a pity we’ve made some plan daft decisions when we’ve been in the ascendency, otherwise it could look a little different heading into that final test at The Oval.
Chances of any play today look zero, chances of any play tomorrow look less than 50%. Real shame as we've absolutely outclassed them in this test and fully deserve to win it.

Fingers crossed but this place suggests a couple of hours without rain today and close to a full day possible tomorrow.
No idea how accurate they are of course and probably just clutching at straws.
I've seen a few forecasts now saying we might get a 2 hour window today. I think any play today would be a bonus. If we can get a whole session at them tomorrow then it's game on.

Excuse my ignorance here but why can't the match be extended to next week?
Because... it's just not cricket.
Its a pun and the truth - test match cricket is very rigid in its structure and over 5 meetings it would be a logistical nightmare to postpone. England's next set of matches is 4 x T20 vs NZ followed by 4 ODIs starting on Aug 30th for instance.

Although it would be very amusing if, just to annoy the Aussies, an obscure rule were found allowing the lost time to be tagged on in full.
I bet there is such a rule, hidden somewhere in the depths of the archaic laws of the game.
