I think a chance the town fan base are getting a little overconfident
Yes they’ve had recent turmoil and a long run of poor form, change at the top and the fans are still unconvinced on Ainsworth. Have lost key players, with more about to leave. Terrible first game of the season and a loss on Weds in the cup with first players exerted and a key injury. Town are also in fine form, brimming with confidence and with a healthy squad.
But I don’t think Ainsworth is a mug. He has experience. He’s beaten Town last season. He’s bought in good experience in Colback, and in defence. Dozzell will have a major point to prove. And critically the pitch is small and it can be an intimidating ground.
Need to stay humble, focussed and energised. And out away support needs to be at its relentless best - not waiting for town to perform, but performing from the off.
As Donacien said we’ve got to match them, get into them and turn that crowd.

Ainsworth is one of a handful of managers to get a League win against McKenna, don't care about anybody's form there's always a chance of defeat.
However
I have great faith in this squad and manager.

Yeah I’m not as confident as I was after their win last week, was hoping they’d get stuffed again but I don’t think Cardiff are world beaters.
Think we need a fast start as usual, get an early goal and think we could get 3 or 4.
I hadn’t realised we’ve not won there in 10 years, I’m sure there was a period of time that I went to Loftus Road and saw 3 wins in a row.
QPR are 3/1 to win though… big price for a home team in the Championship. |  |

I haven't given much thought to the result. Cooked breakfast & a golf lesson in the morning, to the pub for midday, a nice walk from Westbourne park with a few cans to the ground, sun shining. We could lose 5-0 for all I care.
Ainsworth is capable of an upset, but does he have the tools at his disposal to do it in the manner he knows? It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
This is one we could look to dominate the ball in. If we do so, I don't think Ainsworth can set up deep at home, so it could be quite an open affair. Or do we stick with the same gameplan away from home and try and hit them on the counter?

Ainsworth didn't beat this current side, we never had the Jan additions. We are a different beast.
All said, luckily enough KM has a firm grasp of how to beat the opposition and I think the players are more level headed than us fans so will take nothing for granted and QPR win last week will remind everyone its a tough game [Post edited 18 Aug 2023 17:37]

According to Blue Monday Colback isn’t fit enough to play yet.
Regardless, of course we could lose. We are going to at some point and this is just the kind of game that could go pear shaped. Particularly given that Ainsworth knows how we will try and play.
However, the way our team looks we could take them to the cleaners too. If we work as hard as we did in the last couple of weeks and make a good start, I think we will be fine. A good result would certainly set us up nicely for the Leeds game.
This is so much better than worrying about how we will do at Accrington, FGR or some other godforsaken place. |  | | |

Sunderland (for half the game) and Stoke played into our hands - they wanted possession, we pressed and broke quickly when we won the ball.
I can see QPR giving us more possession and trying to break on us, especially with Armstrong, Chair and, if he plays, Willock. We’ve shown what we can do in possession last season but we’ll have to be alert to the threat on the counter. | |
