Not sure I agree with this.
If Sunak was to go there would be accusations of glory hunting and band wagon jumping. Also the cost of flying to the other side of the world (including emissions etc) makes it fairly impractical.
You could argue that Prince William should be there due to his role with the FA. Still a long jaunt for an unforeseen event when his calendar is already probably pretty full.

Going to the other side of the world for a football match because of emissions is now impractical? This is the new language that’s going to get thrown around aplenty isn’t it. I’m sure it would be many people’s dream to limit who can fly where and when, you can see the taste for it already after lockdowns.
Makes me laugh that the likes of Gary Lineker never shuts up about it when he is on a 7 figure salary from an industry that has one of the biggest carbon footprints in the world.
