Surprised we haven't heard much from the owners with the great start 17:15 - Aug 24 with 2823 viewsThe_Flashing_Smile

They must be cock-a-hoop at the moment. Have they been posting much on social media and people just haven't been sharing it or are they just keeping a low profile? I wonder when they're over next?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Berke was at QPR game and posted about it. I'd think/hope they are more than happy to let the broadcasters wet themselves over Brum's Tom Brady wheeze while we get on with things though, to be honest.

I like that they’re quiet, don’t need to be saying this and that all the time.

They've kept a far lower profile for sometime now. But sure that I spotted Berke Bakay at QPR.

Berke Bakery's been over to the games so far and Mark Detmer's often in the replies to the players' tweets congratulating them. Other than that I guess there's no real point being too vocal, think they did their bit in driving excitement in their first year and now they have a bit more of a back seat letting Ashton get on with things.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

His first name should have been Basildon, third name Tew. You could then have had 007, a Wookie and a writing pad all in one name. All bases covered!

Edit: I’m pleased to hear our owners are so involved behind the scenes and hope mr Bakay and family had a great day at QPR.

Lower profile the better. Owners/reps of, should be seen occasionally and heard from even less.

Yeah but they are just cooking the books at Franchise FC, and really they hate football, in my day we were owned by the local land baron and we doffed our caps at him, plus you got a free pint on the way to FPR. And something about elephants.

You'd imagine after Steeds earlier tweets. Ashton had a polite chat about social media.

If fan tweets ruin transfers
Owners bragging about finances probably not the best idea..

I have no idea why he posted that. I get that he believes it’s fine for players to be followed with a smart phone, that he has a right to spew and share any information because he knows it can’t be harmful. Despite not answering the question as to why the CEO said it two years ago after signing a boatload of players, the conversation is over. Why dredge it up again?

As for the Twitter links bragging about finances, agree - let’s have that link. I’d be very interested to see those.

Not now no its since been deleted.

It's not a recent thing either.

But at the beginning he tweeted God help league 1. Then followed up with a response to a tweet about the size of finances available.

Only mentioned ashtons thoughts about social media as he clearly doesn't like it and its power so potentially may have had a word early on..

100% speculation on ashton having a word but it make sense as steed following those earlier tweets hasn't been vocal on the platform much since.

I would like to share what I'm referring to but those earlier tweets have been deleted. But plenty on twtd spoke about them at the time.

Yep.

Also, they don't NEED to stoke things up on social media as much at the moment. We're filling the ground, doing well on the pitch, huge feelgood factor around the club. A lot of the activity at the outset of the takeover will have been to drum up PR and general interest.

That probably sounds more cynical than is meant, but its better sometimes to keep a low profile and let the team/club get on with it.

That’s not in the least bit cynical. They were right to to do the engagement stuff at the outset. By god the club and the supporters needed it. They were good at it too. And they are right to row back on that given where we are now. Media and PR is now other peoples’ roles.

Think the 3 lions needed to be engaged alot at the beginning to show the fans they were committed to the cause and not just owners trying their luck with a club ala Evans.

Brett Johnson was on a few podcasts when he bought us and seemed to be the 'face' of the group and would post about us a lot. I think he scaled it back a lot now, which is good, unlike that Wrexham circus where the owners are the club.

He also seems to have given up on using Twitter/X which I can't blame him for
