It was a great game but disappointing that the Boks went through. Much to admire about their defence and attitude but I’m not a fan of their rugby especially with that cross-field up and under as their major attacking weapon. It may well be an answer to the lack of space and difficulty getting beyond the gain line at this level but it’s pretty grim when repeatedly used as the launch pad for attacks. |  |

Although speaking as a Frenchman it was a tad disappointing that Led Bleus were so befuddled by high hoofs.
No VAR looking at that charged down conversion either, which was odd. But in a game where blatant cheating is allowed at every scrum and line out nothing surprises
The whole competition had been bizarre, overblown and overlong and ended up with the 4 best teams by a country mile playing each other in the QFs - with the two weaker teams going through to walkover SFs. Weirdly there will be even more useless teams in it next time round. | |
