Sam Morsy isn’t in the overseas player list for Egypt so definitely isn’t in squad for their November internationals

Must make AFCON selection very unlikely

I know nothing about the Egypt team, but I just don’t believe they have many better options in CM than him

Maybe not the best news for our captain, but that could be huge for our season.

He’s pivotal to how effective Town are.

Taylor provides strong cover, hell could even replace Luongo.

But we have no one who can match Morsy, as Hudds away showed.

Really need to grab the game at St Andrews.

Bring El Miz back to cover the incoming yellow card suspensions!!

Elneny is the only one that springs to mind.

Good news for us, although I do feel for Morsy. Not sure what more he'd need to do to get in.

His age might count against him. I have no idea of the coaching setup there, but they may want to go down a 'young and hungry' route? Who knows. If he misses out on AFCON, one thing is for sure we'll have a fired-up Morsy keen to show the coach he was wrong. That can only be good for us.

They predominately pick players that play in Egypt. In their last 25 man squad, only 7 players played abroad.

When will Morsy get the hump ( not a camel one) and announce his international retirement? He's been overlooked that often and he's at that age. He's allowed to take a bit of offence I would have thought.

Would be the best news possible if he's not in their AFCON squad. Although they might be taking a look at some alternatives with a view to recalling him for AFCON I guess.

He didn't play much in his only call up in 4 years and now will have missed the next 2 or 3 squads totally since then

Bar an injury crisis there's no way he goes back into squad

….they are retiring from international football because they don’t get to play it.

On this theme, I’d like to announce my retirement from shagging Margot Robbie.

Many thanks to everyone that supported me over the years.

what type of role is El Miz playing at Orient? From my recollections he wasn't the hard tackling gritty midfielder that Morsy is, but maybe he has developed that side of his game? And do we definitely have a recall option?

El Miz has been very much a destructive type midfielder for a few seasons now. Think he was only really considered a creative, attacking midfielder very briefly.

Sorry for Sam as I am sure that he loves representing his Country, but like you say, good news for us. This is a long tough season and we are going to need them all.
