Better performance tonight. Great win 21:57 - Nov 29 with 3839 views | FrimleyBlue | Lots of excellent individual performances and some of the attacking phases were wonderful to watch Burns especially excellent first half. Shame to concede and for the likes of clarke and davis to develop they do need to work on in clarkes case stopping crosses and davis could have again marked tighter. I do find sometimes we lost the flow with 4 subs and I think this game showed it altho having said that we could have scored another 2 goals. Overall a great win. 3 excellent points and we go again Saturday.

Rightly so to be fair. Great win and gets confidence flowing. Good individual performances. Never looked like losing the game, but there’s that annoyance of conceding another goal and steps that could have been taken to stop it. Encourage the positives, discuss the negatives.
Better performance tonight. Great win on 06:18 - Nov 30 with 2604 views | BigCommon | We are still yet to lose two league games on the spin under KM... Say's a lot about the man management, and character of the squad.. I'm not bothered about conceding a late goal with some squad players out there. We reacted well to it and kept going.. 3pts, yet more stunning goals at FPR. We could have gone up a level 2nd half if we needed to. Bit of energy conservation, with a lot of control of the game, is my take on our 2nd half. On to Saturday. More of the same, please..

Why does that make me unhappy? We conceded a goal, one which again could have been stopped with Clarke being better at stopping a cross coming in - one of his biggest weaknesses, and Davis, not getting goal side again another weakness. Again, when did football become a sport where you don't actually discuss the positives and negatives? Do you disagree that they are weaknesses? such an odd forum at times.

I think your expectations are too high. Davis and Clarke are playing in the Championship not the Champions League. They aren’t perfect but they are doing a great job for Town.

It's not really an expectation is it? Both are developing players, they have weaknesses, weaknesses that have lead to goals being conceded.. Do you think they'll be coached to improve on this or left to it as it's the championship not the championsleague?

You have critised them. I feel the criticism is unwarranted as they have contributed to Town being where they are in the league, and to expect them to be better at this stage is not fair. Obviously they can, and no doubt, will improve under the excellent coaching they get at the club.

Frimmers doesn't expect us to concede a goal ever again. Unless we win 4-0 every week and limit the opposition to zero shots he'll find something negative. Even then he'll still try. Burns could go through on goal 5 times and stick 4 away and he'll be crowing about the 1 he didn't. It's bizarre, it's as if he has no idea how football works in real life. Have to say I thought Clarke was excellent last night. I've been a bit critical of him in the past and was disappointed not to see Williams in the side, but I thought he was really solid yesterday. Especially with the context that he didn't play at WBA, so it's 2.5 weeks since his last competitive game and he didn't show any signs of being rusty. I thought he had a really good game to be fair to him.

I think we went through the motions a bit 2nd half, but when you're sat on a 3-0 lead at h/t that's a) inevitable and b) not unwise given we've got another tough game Saturday against a side with an additional days rest. Plenty of changes and saw the game out professionally.

I see nothing wrong with that. Lots went right, but stuff still went wrong and we conceded another goal. In this thread, Frimmers has discussed Clarke not stopping the cross at source, which has been an issue in the past and Davis not quite getting goalside. Both valid points and both will no doubt be discussed in the post match breakdown. If you never look at the negatives alongside the very many positives from games, you’ll never improve. Yeah, Frimmers does have a more pessimistic outlook, but you need opposite sides to stay grounded. We were exceptional for the most part last night, but there’s always things you can improve on. I see no harm in highlighting those bits and his initial post here highlights positives.

There's nothing wrong with that in itself, it's more (as I mentioned above) that it's (a) always him... and (b) not only valid stuff (as you've alluded to) but a lot of nonsense - such as crowing about Burns not turning the team around immediately upon his return from injury. Or describing Burns as whack-a-ball. Or McKenna as smug. Or Tuenzabe as a waste of money and a squad place. etc. etc. etc. etc... No-one has said you should never look at the negatives. Frimmers does that and also looks for negatives that aren't there. He does make the odd good point but you have to wade through mountains of sh!t to get to it. There are several posters who mention things we could improve on but no-one gets the grief Frimmers does. Ask yourself why.
