Philogene is different gravy. If we go up I think we'll look at him again (assuming Hull don't).

I imagine Villa will buy him back with their clause and then sell him on for massive profit.

The clause only applies if the clubs are in the same division

How does Kieffer fit the profile of the player KM wants in that role? He's not mobile enough for starters!!!

Ffs, another suggestion of Kieffer Moore. The bloke does not have the mobility to play the way we do. I’ve seen 40ft artic lorries turn quicker than him.

It gives us a plan B if required.

To be fair I don't mind it as a suggestion, but he's not a direct replacement for Hirst. As an option off the bench I wouldn't mind us seeing a plan B in that mold. Someone who can pin his defender and look after the ball, create the opportunities for the quality we have off him. An aerial threat too, which we don't really have at the moment. I can't see it happening though, no doubt on a decent whack and still a regular feature on Bournemouth's bench.

When has McKenna shown any interest in a plan B though? We play the way we play and just change personnel.

I think he is, for a man of his size he is actually very mobile. He's a good link player, good finisher with both his head and feet, a real focal point for a side. At levels beyond Premier League, he has been a really good striker for teams.

I just don't think that's true. Far more mobile than given credit for, good back to goal and a good finisher. Find it strange he is being snubbed at.

Think Bournemouth are keen to offload - temp or perm. They had a deal in place to bring in Patson Daka in the summer, but couldn't move Moore on. [Post edited 3 Jan 2024 11:04]

Not sure I agree with that, we have shown versatility in our approach. We'll likely need to more as we go on through the season too, I wouldn't be averse to a different bench option. We've got the quality in the final 3rd in Burns, Chaplin, Broadhead etc to create and punish sides, we really lack a street wise focal point in the number 9 role who can pin defenders and retain possession. Moore wouldn't ever be doing the running Hirst does, but if we're looking to the bench with 20 minutes to go against stubborn defences, I think I would rather see Moore than Ladapo. As I say, can't see it in a million years though.
So yet another player we tried to sign in the summer… on 11:06 - Jan 3 with 3113 views | SomethingBlue | It's encouraging though that we stick at it with long-term targets and, presumably, maintain an open line to show we want & would value them if the chance arose. People appreciate that. Far from the first time we've had one like this, as you point out. [Post edited 3 Jan 2024 11:08]

I don't think we've shown much versatility at all when it comes to the centre forward. In the 3 behind, yes there is variation depending what attributes we think fit the game, but it seems pretty obvious what we want week in, week out in the number 9 role. Maybe that is because we haven't had an alternative option of sufficient quality, but I think we are going to want to have two similar options to Hirst (with decent mobility) in the squad in the run in just in case one of them picks up an injury. Agree, look at the game on Saturday as just an example, Stoke in a low block.and very hard to break down, that is our plan B with a big focal point to come off the bench, something to cross the ball for, someone physical..

Absolutely this. It's the one role that doesn't change. The lone striker sets the tone and approach, from defending from the front, being the trigger for the press and moreover the amount of ground that needs to be covered for our overall play to be effective. KM has shown he's not afraid to play out from the back, or go more direct from back to front but the overall approach does not change, especially for that role.

Ladapo coming on at 87 would suggest otherwise.
