Why didn’t VAR disallow his goal
He moved the ball 3 times and not just a small amount even moved the refs foam
He cheated no difference to a deliberate hand ball

Yes should have been retaken if spotted. I am sure this will be one of those vagaries where VAR can't intervene (ridiculous if so) so am sure there will be revised instructions for the assistant Ref to observe any movement of the ball on free kicks.
I mean Toney knows he is doing wrong as he moves foam as well as the ball!
All that said, Forest could of helped themselves. Call out to the ref if ball been moved. Move the wall more to left (from GK perspective) which is something Yates was yelling for anyway. | | | |

Yeah but it was set for the original ball placement which I think Yates was concerned about anyway. After the ball was moved there was no wall adjustment so even Forest seemed to miss the ball being moved!

He's cheated and Forest were asleep. Dawson repeatedly saying the new angle didn't make a difference was cringeworthy. But no offence was committed while the ball was live and it wasn't a red card incident, so once the ref calls for the FK to be taken (without protest) that's it I think. | | | |

I think if we're going to start calling things out like that then what about when keepers move the ball about 10 yards in from where fouls are committed, the throw in takers gaining 10 yards, shirt pulling on literally every set piece, the way Chappers waits for any kind of contact in a tight area and throws himself to the floor. I remember Henry taking that free kick where he asked the ref to take it quickly and I loved that kind of thing. A goalkeeper moving a kick is very different to a direct kick at goal and there just isn't the same advantage from a kick in a different position when in your own half. Doesn't make it right to do so but you can't compare the 2. Yes gaining advantage at a thrown on is common place and sometimes a ref stops it but again not a comparable advantage.
In none of those situations has a ref marked where the ball should be and then a player has moved the ball and picked up the spray foam to try and hide from the ref that the ball has been moved. | | | |

It made me sick. The amount of celebration about his return when he broke a basic rule, yet those who return from serious injury or, as you say, cancer treatment get barely any attention whatsoever. | |
