To be honest I think I'd be a bit annoyed if I were him.
Brought in as one of our more expensive players so probably expecting to play at least 30 mins every game if not the starting 60. One of the more senior players in the squad too.
Brought on as a sub at 91 minutes so no time to get into the game. Put on the left hand side again which I imagine is not his favourite position.
Don't think it's throwing toys out the pram. But I think he has a right to be a little bit miffed. Sure it wont last long and he'll get more minutes against Spam. | |

I think you are reading too much into this. He has started every one of our Premier League games up until yesterday. The only two people he could have possibly replaced were Clarke or Hutchinson and both were a real threat for the entire game. |  |

He's started pretty much every game, and for the most part hasn't really done a lot. If the logic is that minutes should correlate to transfer fee (not that they do) then he can't expect to be in ahead of either Clarke or Hutchinson.
I was a bit lukewarm about the prospect of paying £9m for him personally. Unlike Hutchinson and Clarke where we've bought a lot of ability combined with potential, it felt like we were paying top whack for top end Championship player coming in off the back of their purple patch in Szmodics. I think he'll have a role to play don't get me wrong, and we needed a balance between potential and older heads, but like anyone else he doesn't have a given right to start every game. |  | | |

Wow. Talk about jumping the gun.
I cannot imagine he has come in thinking he's going to play every game and I'm assuming we've told him that. He must know we use subs effectively. Players like Hutchinson didn't really start games until the second half of the season, and rightly so because he wasn't that good.

Indeed and it's just a nonsense take
I did happen to be looking at the the centre of the pitch and did see him heading off but not once did it cross my mind it meant something
He was fully involved in the middle of the pitch thanks and handshakes and hardly showed the attitude of someone hacked off or had an issue.
He left on his own but plenty of players do this from time to time and some players who even walk around only clap whilst make no visual with the crowd. ie every player is different. Maybe he's an individual that only wants to do it when he feels hes personally made a contribution and left it to the those that played the majority of minutes. It's just a wierd assumption to make that he's hacked off.
You have no idea why, maybe he wanted to check some personal news asap from family and friends. it could be anything. |  |
