Morsy was much better once Taylor came on. Albeit the game was as good as done by then.

Not convinced by his interviews either. Seems to lack the hunger to me.

He’ll prob have to hit top form for a couple of seasons with no silly mistakes to be forgotten about a bit.

The pass back from him that DCL didn’t finish was poor and really was a simple weighted ball.

Not wanting to risk upsetting any parent, but I honestly thought Wes Burns was terrible for the time that he was on the pitch yesterday - much worse than Phillips. I do understand that players have a 'dip in form' and I am sure that his good form will return hopefully. I am a fan of his. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Burns and Ogene are this seasons Jackson imo Both are aware of their limits. So are we. But they can do a job. However to do that job they need space. Balls into space and half a pitch to run into. Take that away and you may as well take them off as they don't do anything with the ball. I compared burns with traore of Fulham. Give the ball to traore on halfway he doesn't go anywhere. Give him space ahead and the ball through for him he's gone and a goal scoring opportunity is on.

The diagonal switch into the space (there was plenty of it at times) in front of Burns was on loads of times yesterday, but no one even attempted it. It was frustrating.

He then, Traore, blazes his cross into row Z.

I agree entirely. Burns isn't getting the ball when he is available in space. We're constantly looking to feed it into Hutchinson with players up his backside. We're too slow to move it and this means Wes is anonymous. All he's getting is balls to his feet either side of the half way line and too much traffic in front of him to make impact.

Yeah you see it even on the Tele the number of times the diags were on. But I think this Is where we're trying to play too safe to keep the ball rather than brave to spread the play and get going. The issue for me is we lose the ball in the channel we can reset. Lose it in the middle and we're under the cosh.

I felt like after about 60-65 mins, Everton just thought "lets defend and see if they can break us down", which i guess is why good teams get back in the game and have won (Bmouth and Villa). People are saying the subs did well when they came on, and they did, but Everton effectively just let us play. We didn't threaten much which was a shame. I think a goal would have really worried them.

Totally and it's a head-scratcher why we haven't tried to play to his strengths these past few games - seemingly at least, I can't recall even failed attempts to release him into space since the Liverpool game.
